    Boland c Pope b Broad 0 (Aus 378-9)

Short again and popped up to Ollie Pope at silly point! Who says England don't have the bowling attack to bounce teams out!?

Stuart Broad got the direction of the bouncer just right, the ball was headed for Scott Boland's throat and the Australian tailender can only fend it off.

A very simple catch for Pope. England need one more wicket and still lead by 15.

So much has been made of the difference in styles between these two teams, which has been plain to see. One crucial difference is that Australia essentially had a one-size-fits-all plan. Drop the field back, let England go to them. England have had tailored plans for each different Australian batter.

Scott Boland is in at number 10 and England revert to a more traditional field with three slips and a gully... Not really, it's more short stuff!

Boland isn't engaging just yet and leaves the last delivery to keep Pat Cummins on strike for the start of the next over.

This is such a big moment in this Test match. If Australia can get 20 or 30 more than could be massive on this surface.

Lyon got a piece of it but there's a bloke out there and he said thank you very much.

    That was so easy.

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 114.3 overs

    Lyon c Duckett b Robinson 1 (Aus 377-8)

The short-ball ploy works a treat!

Fielders on the boundary, ball banged in short, Nathan Lyon takes it on and picks out Ben Duckett in the deep.

Simple as you like. Two more for England to get... can they pinch a lead?

  8. ouch!

Ouch! Stuart Broad is really going at Pat Cummins with some short stuff and hits the Australia captain a couple of times in the over.

The first one raps the gloves but drops into the middle of the pitch, much to the disappointment of the two close catching fielders.

The next thuds into his chest, missing the chest guard - that will hurt. This promises to be an exciting next 15 minutes or so before lunch!

That field just kept the batsman thinking. Khawaja gave it a bit of space and was yorked.

England are still a chance of getting a first-innings lead but you fancy Pat Cummins and new batter Nathan Lyon will be looking to score quickly now to give Australia the advantage.

Usman Khawaja was expecting the cutter with all those fielders in. It completely got in his mind and he danced down. Robinson just did him for pace

Brilliant tactics. As good as it gets.

  13. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 112.4 overs

    Khawaja b Robinson 141 (Aus 372-7)

If the aim was to confuse Usman Khawaja - it has worked!

Ben Stokes matched the leg-side cordon with one on the off side but that was all just a distraction as Ollie Robinson knocked his off stump out of the ground with a superb yorker!

Khawaja shimmied down the pitch and tried to make room to hit through the off side but was beaten for pace.

Robinson is up and running in this series! Three more to get for England...

It is as if Stokes is trying to make the fields as bizarre as possible to confuse the batsman.

OK, Ben Stokes is getting very funky with his field now. He's got four men catching in front of square on the leg side as Ollie Robinson bowls around the wicket to Usman Khawaja.

A misfield from Jimmy Anderson allows Usman Khawaja a single. That brings Pat Cummins back on strike and we know what that means: bouncers.

There is so little in this surface that Cummins is able to deal with that approach comfortably.

Earlier today, I very clearly heard Stuart Broad bowl with a grunt and say to Pat Cummins he will be 5'5" by the end of this series. Broad really doesn't like this pitch.

  19. Aus 371-6published at 111 overs

Ollie Robinson goes around the wicket to Pat Cummins to continue the bouncer barrage.

He then bowls the first no-ball of the day - something of an improvement on yesterday that it has taken that long.

Robinson is back over to end the over and Cummins moves inside the last delivery and flicks at bat at it. There's a muted appeal for caught behind but there is nothing doing.
