Cummins has been using the edge of his bat beautifully so far! He's no mug with the bat and he needs to be because the three blokes behind him are probably not quite as qualified.

Decent start from Stuart Broad as he finds the outside half of Pat Cummins' bat. The ball still slides into the gap at backward point and earns Australia a single.

That's the only run of the over but Australia are getting ever closer to a first-innings lead.

This is exactly why Australia were ‘boring’ yesterday. They’ve worn Ali down and now we have to bowl our fragile and aging seamers without a break

Here comes Stuart Broad. Can he break this stand and get England properly into the tail?

First innings runs are crucial. We decided to declare, we obviously don't like first-innings runs.

Jimmy Anderson is still looking something of a threat but with Pat Cummins, in particular, in a hurry, the runs are still coming.

Just four from the over, two of them thanks to a leading edge into the covers as Cummins tried to flick a ball off middle and into the leg side.

Moeen Ali has been fined for applying spray to his spinning finger. It has clearly been troubling him since yesterday.

That could only have slipped out of his fingers. He's bowled a couple of them today. The fingers get sore, you are gripping that seam. It doesn't go always.

No runs from the last couple of deliveries but Moeen Ali goes straight off the field at the end of the over.

It looks like he is showing his spinning finger to the coaches. He seems to be having trouble with it.

One to keep an eye on, especially with how important spin is likely to be for the rest of this match.

  12. 6 runs

    Aus 355-6published at 101.4 overs

Pat Cummins has decided it's time to get a move on!

He is helped out by horrible full toss as the ball slips out of Moeen Ali's hand - not for the first time this morning - and launches it over deep mid-wicket for six.

Six more! Straight back down the ground this time and right out of the middle. The sound off the bat was confirmation enough that it was going all the way.

Khawaja's currently studying to be an airline pilot and bats like a pilot, he's very in control.

Pat Cummins gets off the mark with a thick outside edge that goes between backward point and gully.

Usman Khawaja isn't the quickest between the wickets but he hustles back for three.

The deficit is down to 50.

The first 20 minutes went Australia's way, you see the runs coming, but it's changed now and this wicket isn't going to get any better.

What are the chances of Cummins declaring 20 behind just to get everyone's heads completely scrambled again?

Impossible chance for Jonny, it kept low, very low.

  19. Aus 339-6published at 100 overs

Close! Moeen Ali after testing Pat Cummins out with a loopy full toss - dot ball - then finds the edge.

Cummins jabs at the ball and gets a thick edge but there is no chance for Jonny Bairstow as it goes straight down to hit him low on the ankle.

Surprise bounce from Jimmy Anderson, probably the ball Pat Cummins would have expected the least.
