Bad news, folks. It is raining at Edgbaston and the players are making their way off the field.

It has arrived a bit sooner than we all expected. Let's hope it passes quickly and we can get some more play in.

You'd say that's two or three inches away. There must have been some noise as all of the guys behind Crawley appealed.

  4. Eng 26-0published at 6.5 overs

That's a good delivery from Pat Cummins as he gets one to flash past Zak Crawley's outside edge.

There must have been a noise as Alex Carey and Steve Smith went up as if there was a nick. Pat Cummins declines the review and rightly so, there were a good couple of inches between bat and ball as it went past.

What it's done is mean that Pat Cummins has moved a man straight to 45. Nathan Lyon, the main threat, only has one catcher.

  9. Eng 24-0published at 6 overs

That was magnificent from Ben Duckett. It is a reverse-flick-sweep away fine for the first boundary of the innings.

The crowd, who are getting warmed up, loved that.

Hello. Australia are bringing Nathan Lyon into the attack five overs in.

    Interesting.

Rich Barker: Darth Vader's been arrested? Great example of using the force.

That was uppish from Ben Duckett and he very nearly lobs it to the man at mid-wicket. He has more control the following delivery though as he nudges it square for another single.

Meanwhile, the inflatables have returned to the Hollies Stand. I think the stewards are busy sorting out Darth Vader.

It was just a push from Ben Duckett, nothing more than a short arm jab. Khawaja hoped to dive over it so he didn't have to chase it.

  20. Eng 17-0published at 4 overs

    Lead by 24

There's a huge cheer as Usman Khawaja misfields at mid-on and has to chase the ball all the down to the rope and England run three.

Khawaja looks a little weary. You could forgive him for that, though.
