  1. Bad light stops play at Headingleypublished at 17:07 British Summer Time 27 June 2023

    Yorkshire 550-9 dec v Gloucestershire 384-6

Only three overs were possible after tea before bad light intervened again in Leeds.

But there was time for this partnership between Tom and Oli Price to move to 138 as they added 15 more runs.

  2. Lees eyes milestonepublished at 17:04 British Summer Time 27 June 2023

    Durham 517- 6 dec & 190-2, Leicestershire 422

    BBC Radio Newcastle

Alex Lees (85) and David Bedingham (62) have put on 106 runs so far for Durham's third wicket.

Having scored 101 in the first innings, Lees is looking to become the sixth Durham batsman to score centuries in both innings of a first-class match.

The last to do it was Sean Dickson. He scored 104 and 105 at Worcester last season - and, in doing so, became their first to score a century in three consecutive innings, having made 100 in the previous match in Sussex.

Scott Borthwick and Keaton Jennings both did it in 2016. Borthwick against Lancashire and Jennings in the first game of the season, at home to Somerset.

Paul Collingwood also did it against Somerset in 2005. He could have recorded consecutive hundreds in a game at Swansea in 2017 but declared on himself when he was in the 90s in the second innings.

And Dean Jones scored back-to-back hundreds against the touring Pakistan side, in Durham's first season in first-class cricket in 1992.

WICKET James c Lammonby b Davey 8published at 17:04 British Summer Time 27 June 2023

    Somerset 163 & 514-8 v Nottinghamshire 186 & 32-5

Another one goes for Notts! Their innings is in tatters.

Josh Davey strikes with his third ball after replacing Craig Overton. Lyndon James' eyes light up when he is offered a bit of width, but he succeeds only in driving it to third slip where Tom Lammonby hangs on well.

The Taunton crowd is enjoying this.

  4. wicket

WICKET Khushi c Mousley b Bess 44published at 16:59 British Summer Time 27 June 2023

    Essex 457 & 61-1 v Warwickshire 158 & 381

Feroze Khushi will not get his asterisk in the scorebook.

Dom Bess gets one to turn and Khushi tickles it to short leg.

Only 22 required as Essex captain Tom Westley, a century maker in the first innings and leading run scorer in Division One this season, comes to the crease.

HAMPSHIRE WIN BY AN INNINGS AND 61 RUNSpublished at 16:59 British Summer Time 27 June 2023

    Hampshire 419 v Middlesex 150 & 208

Liam Dawson has 12 in the match. Tom Helm charges down the track trying to hit the ball into the New Forest but misses it and Ben Brown does the rest. Thumping win for the hosts who temporarily go back into second in the Division One table.

Dawson finished with 6-90 for match figures of 12-130. Oh, and he scored 141 with the bat, remember.

Nick Gubbins also made 120 and took an incredible maiden first-class wicket in England, against his former club.

  6. 50 runs

for Luke Procterpublished at 16:58 British Summer Time 27 June 2023

    Northants 237 & 193-4 v Kent 621

The Northants skipper works a single off Arshdeep Singh to reach 50 for the 32nd time in first-class cricket. Vital knock.

His side will need plenty more from him if they are to get out of this situation unscathed, trailing by 191 runs.

  7. One over gone at The Ovalpublished at 16:56 British Summer Time 27 June 2023

Surrey 1-0, chasing 208 to beat Lancashire

One off the first over from Tom Bailey, a single off the first ball from Rory Burns, then five dot balls for Dom Sibley.

Now it is the turn of Lancashire nightwatchman batting hero Will Williams, after his top-scoring 61.

The floodlights are on. And there is talk of a storm brewing.

But we do not think they mean Typhoon Tom or Hurricane Will.

Surrey ought to get this job done,

  8. Postpublished at 16:55 British Summer Time 27 June 2023

    Somerset 163 & 514-8 dec v Nottinghamshire 186 & 24-4

Craig Overton and Matt Henry must be close to as good a new-ball duo as there is in county cricket right now.

Those two are spearheading Somerset in the T20 Blast and they have left this Notts' second innings in ruins.

Somerset may think they could win this tonight if they get another wicket or two quickly.

There are 24 overs remaining today.

  9. wicket

    WICKET Roland-Jones lbw b Dawson 7published at 16:53 British Summer Time 27 June 2023

    Hampshire 419 v Middlesex 150 & 197-9

That's 11 for Liam Dawson. 5-88 to go with his 6-40. So 11-128 if maths hasn't failed us.

He's rapped Toby Roland-Jones on the knee roll and there are no complaints.

72 runs in arrears with one wicket remaining. Ethan Bamber is the last man.

  10. 6 runs

Postpublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 27 June 2023

    Essex 457 & 38-0 v Warwickshire 157 & 381

Feroze Khushi launches Hasan Ali over the ropes for a maximum.

Essex are breezing towards this target and Khushi and Sir Alastair Cook will be eyeing up not outs from this innings.

    Only 45 more for victory.

  11. wicket

WICKET Clarke c Overton b Henry 3published at 16:48 British Summer Time 27 June 2023

    Somerset 163 & 514-8 dec v Nottinghamshire 186 & 14-4

This is a searching examination of the Notts' batters and they are being found seriously wanting.

Joe Clarke is the latest man to go.

Another excellent ball from Matt Henry and it's well taken by the big hands of Craig Overton at second slip.

  12. wicket

WICKET Simpson c Brown b Fullerpublished at 16:41 British Summer Time 27 June 2023

    Hampshire 419 v Middlesex 150 & 185-8

John SImpson has worked very hard for his 49 from 136 balls and deserved a third fifty of the season, but he has to go.

James Fuller bangs one down leg side which seems to die on Simpson as he attempts a pull shot and can only feather an edge to keeper Ben Brown galloping to his right.

Middlesex trail by 84 runs with two wickets remaining. Tom Helm joins Toby Roland-Jones in the middle.

  13. wicket

WICKET Montgomery c Aldridge b Overton 7published at 16:39 British Summer Time 27 June 2023

    Somerset 163 & 514-8 dec v Nottinghamshire 186 & 10-3

Somerset cannot do anything wrong today...

Craig Overton gets in on the act as he puts one in that dangerous spot on fourth stump and with his height, the extra bounce has Matthew Montgomery fending it to two second slip where it is swallowed up.

In theory, Notts need 482 more runs to win. We can now rule that out definitively!

  14. wicket

SURREY NEED 208 TO BEAT LANCASHIREpublished at 16:38 British Summer Time 27 June 2023

    Surrey 360 v Lancashire 274 & 293 all out

Last man Jack Morley pops one into the hands of short leg and Dan Worrall wraps up the Lancashire innings.

It has taken 114 overs but Surrey have got the Red Rose out for a second time.

They will now chase 208 for a sixth win of the Championship season.

  15. wicket

WICKET Keogh lbw b Qadri 57published at 16:25 British Summer Time 27 June 2023

    Northants 237 & 153-4 v Kent 621

Hamid Qadri flights one in to Rob Keogh who prods forward but misses the ball which thumps his pads. Up goes the finger. Keogh doesn't like it much.

Kent have a big scalp. Four down. Saif Zaib is the new man, joining Luke Procter who has accelerated to reach 40.

The deficit is stil 231 with six wickets in hand.

  16. Tea at Headingleypublished at 16:25 British Summer Time 27 June 2023

    Yorkshire 550-9 dec v Gloucestershire 369-6

Tremendous defiance from OIi and Tom Price to keep Yorkshire at bay.

They have put on 123 for the seventh wicket with Oli on 71 and Tom on 37.

Gloucestershire now only require 32 runs to avoid the follow-on.

  17. wicket

WICKET De Caires b Gubbins 19published at 16:24 British Summer Time 27 June 2023

    Hampshire 419 v Middlesex 150 & 179-7

Ball of the century from Nick Gubbins!

His sixth first-class pole, his first in England and better than many seasoned spinners have ever produced.

Josh De Caires comes forward, as he should, but the ball is flighted up, bites the surface and turns back to hit the off bail. An absolute ripper. Wow.

Toby Roland-Jones joins John Simpson in the middle.

WICKET Slater lbw b Henry 1published at 16:20 British Summer Time 27 June 2023

    Somerset 163 & 514-8 dec v Nottinghamshire 186 & 2-2

Three overs in and both of Notts' openers have gone!

A cracking delivery from Matt Henry, coming round the wicket, pins Ben Slater right in front of middle and leg.

Somerset are going in for the kill with Henry and Craig Overton with the ball in hand.

  20. wicket

    WICKET Bailey c Worrall b S Curran 25published at 16:18 British Summer Time 27 June 2023

    Surrey 360 v Lancashire 274 & 282-9

Tom Bailey takes on the short ball from Sam Curran but it lands in the hands of Dan Worrall at deep fine leg.

It would have been six at many grounds, but not the vast expanses of The Oval.

Lancashire lead by 196 but Surrey should be batting soon.
