    Middlesex v Northants 132-4

Sam Robson is in at short leg and claims a catch off Procter but it's not given. Bump ball?

The wind is really getting up here at Merchant Taylors' and it can't be the easiest of times for a spinner to bowl.

    Maiden over, however.

  3. Postpublished at 15:37 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Kent 171 v Warwickshire 37-0

Alex Davies finds the ropes three times off Arshdeep Singh in one over to move past 20 and Warwickshire are ticking along closer to four an over all of a sudden.

Shot! A slip and a short mid off are in place for Ben Raine, but Roelofsen picks up the back of a length ball quickly and slaps it through mid wicket for four runs.

A three and a single come off the remainder of the over and Gloucestershire are rebuilding quickly after the loss of Chris Dent.

  5. Postpublished at 15:34 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Somerset 78-4 v Hampshire

Kyle Abbott bowls the final three balls of his interrupted over, the final of which is guided through the covers with aplomb by Andy Umeed who moves onto 16. James Rew has 19.

These two have have rebuilt well from 41-4 in the 13th over.

    Yorkshire 142-0 v Worcestershire

New Road in the rainImage source, Ged Scott - BBC Sport

The rain has now set in properly at New Road.

It is starting to look increasingly like that might be it for the day.

It would not have to rain for a great deal longer for umpires Watts and Millns to make that sort of decision!

  7. Postpublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Middlesex v Northants 129-4

Procter cuts De Caires to backward point for two and moves on to 20.

A single off the fifth ball and this partnership is now worth 28.

  8. Postpublished at 15:27 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Durham v Glos 214-4

Four more to Roelofsen with a thumping drive down the ground off Pretorius.

He picks up four more pulled through square leg off Potts at the other end - and here's a rarity! An overthrow in the field brings Gloucestershire five! One off the bat and four overthrows. Harsh for the bowler.

    Somerset 74-4 v Hampshire

Good news. Play is set to resume at 15:30 BST with 47.3 overs remaining in the day and tea scheduled for 4.50pm. Going to be a late finish.

  10. Postpublished at 15:25 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Kent 171 v Warwickshire 22-0

Rob Yates clearly read the post where we said Warwickshire are 'slow and steady' and took it personally.

14 runs off the following 12 balls, including a couple of leg-side boundaries off Grant Stewart.

  11. Postpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Surrey 172-5 v Notts

Calvin Harrison is fractionally short with the final ball of his latest over and Ben Foakes has time to rock back and square cut for four.

Dane Paterson continues from the other end and Jordan Clakr flashes him away to the third man boundary before repeating the shot later in the over.

He is 33 not out and Ben Foakes has 28.

  12. Postpublished at 15:23 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Middlesex v Northants 126-4

Procter pads up outside off stump to De Caires.

Huge appeal from the Middlesex off spinner but its not out.

    Just two from the over.

  13. Postpublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Middlesex v Northants 124-4

Shot! Keogh pulls a short ball from Roland-Jones through mid-wicket for four runs to move into double figures.

Airborne for a while but Pieter Malan is a lone figure in front of square on the on side.

Just a single off Bamber's over.

Not "bazball" but compelling cricket of attrition.

And three balls after Gloucestershire reach 200, Dent is gone!

A jaffa from Potts that the opener has to play and he's edged behind to keeper Robinson.

The end of a fine innings nonetheless.

James Bracey, the Gloucester captain, is in next.

  15. Postpublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Surrey 157-5 v Notts

Jake Ball has only bowled five overs so far and is off the field at the moment, with Toby Pettman on 12th man duty.

A heavier workload, therefore, than might have been expected for Brett Hutton and Dane Paterson.

The latter's latest over yields just a couple of singles and he has 1-32 from 15.

  16. Gloucestershire pass 200 at Riversidepublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Durham v Glos 200-3

Roelofsen tacks a leg side ball from Potts in front of square for one to take the visitors to 200 in the 52nd over.

  17. Postpublished at 15:14 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Kent 171 v Warwickshire 8-0

Slow and steady wins the race for Warwickshire, though Alex Davies had his heart in his mouth for a moment, he backed away from the crease very late in Arshdeep's run-up due to someone walking infront of the sight-screen.

Arshdeep didn't stop and uprooted leg stump but the umpire was in the process of waving the ball dead and Davies lives to fight another day.

  18. Postpublished at 15:14 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Middlesex v Northants 119-4

Shot! Lovely checked drive by Procter down the ground off Bamber sends the ball skimming through the turf for four precious runs.

Can this fifth wicket pair keep Middlesex at bay in this session?

Just 18 runs in the partnership so far but signs of growing confidence.

  19. Division Two updatepublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

Derbyshire may have picked up three wickets since lunch, but Sussex are still going along nicely, with Tom Clark now 80 not out. They are 212-3 against Derbyshire in the 53rd over.

  20. Latest from Cardiffpublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

Are we going to see some play at Sophia Gardens?

If it happens, there will be 32 over of play before the close.
