  1. Good fightback by Derbyshirepublished at 16:14 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Sussex 247-4 - tea

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex commentator

An excellent session for Derbyshire who, after a dreadful morning, have fought their way back into the game.

A wicket with the first ball after lunch set the tone with Tom Haines caught at slip, and that galvanised a Derbyshire side that had looked deflated before the interval

Alex Thomson has picked up three wickets with his off-spin, although both James Coles and Tom Clark - who was just four runs away from a century - rather gave their wickets away, providing catching practice to Leus du Plooy in the deep

  2. Tea at The Ovalpublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Surrey 200-5 v Nottinghamshire

Matthew Montgomery is called up for the final over before tea and three singles take the Surrey total to exactly 200.

The Division One leaders have added 130 since lunch, with Will Jacks the only man dismissed, caught behind for 35 from a poor shot.

Ben Foakes and Jordan Clark have added 70 since then and Clark is 47 not out at the interval with his England wicketkeeper partner on 42.

Notts are now two bowlers short with Jake Ball and Brett Hutton both off the field.

  3. wicket

WICKET Roelofsen b Parkinson 42published at 16:10 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Durham v Glos 256-5

Durham strike with the tea interval in sight. Crucial breakthrough and in truth a horrid dismissal for Roelofsen, who is bowled round his legs missing an attempted slog sweep off a full toss.

Just 58 balls for those 42 runs and Durham will be relieved to see him off.

    Zafar Gohar is in next.

  4. wicket

WICKET Davies lbw b Evison 42published at 16:09 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Kent 171 v Warwickshire 69-1

Breakthrough for Kent. Alex Davies is not a fan of this decision, it's fair to say, but he has to go.

He looks to have got a big inside edge on that but his stint is at an end after 44 balls, seven of which were hit for four.

Will Rhodes joins Rob Yates in the middle. The deficit is 102.

  5. Tea at Hovepublished at 16:07 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Sussex 247-4 v Derbyshire

Dan Ibrahim plays out a maiden from spinner Alex Thomson and Sussex go into tea three runs short of their first batting point.

A good fightback by Derbyshire in that session after the home side were 150-0 at lunch, picking up four wickets including Tom Clarke for 97 and Tom Haines 86.

Thomson has been the pick of the attack and has 3-47 so far.

  6. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 16:07 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Somerset 102-5 v Hampshire

James Vince is currently getting daggers from Kyle Abbott. The skipper puts down a dolly at first slip after Abbott finds the edge of Kasey Aldridge's bat. Right in the breadbasket. That would have been the fiverfer too.

Aldridge remains there on eight. Somerset have limped into three figures.

  7. Postpublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Surrey 197-5 v Notts

Acting Notts skipper Haseeb Hameed - Steven Mullaney wasn't fit for this game - is casting around the field to try and find a part-time bowler to weight in with a few overs.

Lyndon James and Calvin Harrison are operating in tandem at the moment, but with Jake Ball and Brett Hutton off the field, Dane Paterson is the only other front-line bowler available.

  8. Tea at Merchant Taylors'published at 16:03 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Middlesex v Northants 144-6

Just a couple of singles come from the last Roland-Jones over before the break and another tough session of cricket comes to and end.

The scoring rate has been largely the same through both sessions of play with no batter able to capitalise on patient starts so far.

Fantastic bowling from Rojo in particular to remove Keogh and Procter in sucessive overs.

Zaib is the key for Northants now - as he can score quickly when set.

  9. Postpublished at 16:00 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Durham v Glos 250-4

Gloucester picks up another brace of fours with Bracey and Roelofsen both driving through the off side.

We have had the lights on for much of the afternoon here at the Riverside but it's brightening up now.

Roelofsen picks up a single with a slap through point to take the visitors to 250 in the 62nd over.

  10. wicket

WICKET Clark c du Plooy b Thomson 96published at 15:57 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Sussex 245-4 v Derbyshire

Tom Clark misses out on his first century of the season as he comes down the pitch to Alex Thomson, gets a leading edge and lobs a catch to Leus du Plooy.

He can't believe what he has done and contemplates a frustrated swish of the bat before thinking better of it.

Clark batted for four and a quarter-hours faced 168 balls and hit 14 fours.

Dan Ibrahim comes out to join Oli Carter, who is 24 not out.

  11. Postpublished at 15:55 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Middlesex v Northants 142-6

McManus picks up four with a paddle sweep down to fine leg off De Caires.

Every single run is gold dust now on what will most likely be a low scoring match.

One over left before the break.

  12. Injuries mount up for Nottspublished at 15:54 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Surrey 193-5 v Notts

This is turning into a very difficult day for Notts.

With Jake Ball already off the field, Brett Hutton cluches his hamstring mid-over and has to join him in the dressing room.

Lyndon James is called up to bowl the final two deliveries of the over.

It almost results in a wicket as he finds the edge of Ben Foakes' bat but it doesn't carry to the keeper.

  13. wicket

    WICKET Procter c Simpson b Roland-Jones 25published at 15:51 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Middlesex v Northants 135-6

    Roland-Jones strikes in successive overs!

Another patient, battling innings ends in a modest score.

It's a great ball from Rojo, who draws Procter forward in defence and gets a thin edge through to the keeper.

Lewis McManus will try to rebuild with Saif Zaib. Two overs left before tea.

  14. Foakes/Clark build partnershippublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Surrey 192-5 v Notts

Beautiful shot by Ben Foakes who waits for the ball from Calvin Harrison to arrive before placing it to the left of mid-off for four.

He moves to 38 not out and Jordan Clark cracks the first ball of the next over, from Brett Hutton, for four to advance to 43.

  15. Latest from Blackpoolpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Lancashire v Essex 12-1

The umpires will carry out another inspection at 4.30pm.

Just 4.1 overs bowled at Stanley Park today.

  16. 50 runs

up for Warwickshirepublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Kent 171 v Warwickshire 58-0

Bears race past 50 with another 13 off an over from Arshdeep Singh with boundaries from both Alex Davies (33) and Rob Yates (24).

The deficit is down to 113.

  17. Division Two updatepublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

Sussex are now 235-3 against Derbyshire and Tom Clark and Oli Carter are closing in on a 50 partnership at Hove. Clarks is 88 not out, with 12 fours, and Carter has 21.

Barring any further rain, we are scheduled to finally see some play between Glamorgan and Leicestershire at 4.30pm at Sophia Gardens. The toss will take place in a few minutes time.

Tea is currently being taken at New Road, where Yorkshire are 142-0, in the hope of more play during the final session.

  18. Postpublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Durham v Glos 236-4

Runs are coming at a worrying rate for Durham this afternoon as Gloucester keep the rate just above four an over.

Ben Raine bowls - and Bracey keeps the pressure on the field with four driven through the off side.

Five singles off Potts at the other end.

  19. wicket

    WICKET Keogh b Roland-Jones 12published at 15:43 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Middlesex v Northants 132-5

    Breakthrough! Rob Keogh has gone!

Huge blow for the visitors as they lose one of their best batters this season.

Through the gate, beating a defensive push and rocking back the off stump.

Saif Zaib joins his captain on the burning deck.

  20. wicket

WICKET Umeed c Organ b Abbott 16published at 15:42 British Summer Time 10 July 2023

    Somerset 80-5 v Hampshire

Out of nothing, Kyle Abbott has 4-10 from six overs and Andy Umeed has to go.

He has pulled straight to Felix Organ at mid-wicket who takes a tidy low catch to his right. That's the first glimpse of attacking intent from Umeed, and the last.

Kasey Aldridge is in at seven. Hampshire are rampant.
