Travis Head lets the last ball of Stuart Broad's over go through to Jonny Bairstow.
But he's still scoring at more than a run-a-ball. Australia have scored quickly all day, they're going at just shy of fours so far.

That one must have just shaved off stump...
Close!
A very, um, brave leave from Travis Head! Stuart Broad attacks from around the wicket and nips the ball back to the left-hander.
Not very far away from the off stump.

An injured captain, aging bowlers, a batting line-up who can’t bat if the ball moves and awful fielding. But hey, it doesn’t matter. As long as the team is happy, who cares about results? Can’t wait to watch Australia get 600 tomorrow after paying £160 for the privilege.

Tongue has impressed me and he's a bit more of a bigger unit. Broad pitches it up and Anderson and Robinson are the same. The bigger fellas hit the pitch and get more deviation and that is what Tongue has done.
Australia have moved past 250 and that small opening England seemed to have after the Marnus Labuschagne wicket with Ollie Robinson and Jimmy Anderson bowling nicely has very quickly closed up.
Josh Tongue is trying to create a new opening for England but without success this time around.

Steve Smith scored 24 off his first 15 deliveries, but has scored 30 off the 94 that have followed.

Ben: Is anyone talking about the pathetic over rate? £160 for a day at Lord's today and still 30 overs left to bowl at 17.15. Appalling!

The fifty partnership between Smith and Head is up after just over eight overs.
Smith 52, Head 35
Travis Head is riding his luck but the way he's going, he could have a decent score before it runs out!
The left-hander drives at a full delivery from Stuart Broad. It comes off the edge but wide of the slips and away for four more.
Broad follows that up with another ripper that nips away to beat the edge but Head answers back with a shot whipped through mid-wicket for four more.
That brings up the fifty partnership from 54 balls.
Some extra bounce for Josh Tongue late in the over and it surprises Steve Smith.
The ball does come off the edge but played with soft hands by Smith and it falls short of gully.

Robert Carter: The number of no balls England bowl is ridiculous.
Josh Tongue is back into the attack. He did for both Australia openers with his little bit of extra pace.
Travis Head is unconcerned though and flays the third ball of the over through point for four. Top shot.

England have bowled much better since the tea break, more diligent with their length. Because the ball is a bit softer now, it won't carry. Australia have rode out some tricky batting conditions from this morning.
We have some news on Ollie Pope. The England vice-captain is being treated with ice after appearing to injury his shoulder early in the afternoon session.
Aus 230-3
More good bowling from Ollie Robinson as he squares up Steve Smith. The ball goes off the outside edge but wide of the slip cordon and away for a couple.
Smith then drives through extra cover for a couple more - and that takes him to a 37th Test fifty to go with 31 tons.
It comes up from 102 balls - a key innings for Australia. As ever, England will be desperate to see the back of him.
Steve Smith came flying out of the traps but he has been crawling along for a while now. As far as Australia are concerned, though, as long as he's still out there, they're happy.
He clips the only run of the Jimmy Anderson over to mid-wicket before Travis Head crunches a cover drive straight to the fielder.
Smith 45, Head 20
Travis Head is not messing about!
He has some luck with an inside edge first up that could quite easily have gone onto his stumps - instead he gets two for it.
From there, though, it's classy batting. The left-hander follows it up with a back-foot punch for four and then whips through mid-wicket for another boundary.
Ollie Robinson beats him with a good 'un to end the over. It's all-action cricket!

It's frustrating when you see gloves being run out, drinks being run out, it's taking batters an age to take their guard. There's certain things in cricket that are frustrating.
