It's the correct decision but Stuart Broad has still thrown his arms out as if to say "why me?"

Big call from third umpire Marais Erasmus. The replay showed there was an inside edge, but did it hit the pad first before going onto the bat and pad again?
Erasmus decides it did not and the on-field decision stands.
Another review goes against England.
It is the celeb-appeal from Stuart Broad as a full delivery hits Marnus Labuschagne on the pads.
There was some bat involved as well. But what did it hit first and was it in line?
England go for the review.

Steve Smith has reached 9000 Test runs. It's his 99th Test, he is the first of the 17 players to reach 9,000 in under 100 Tests. This is his 174th Test innings, only Kumar Sangakkara has reached 9,000 in fewer, doing it in 172. He is the fourth Australian to reach 9,000, after Ricky Ponting, Allan Border and Steve Waugh.
Shottttt! Is the cry from the Lord's crowd (well, the Australian contingent at least) as Smith guides the ball through mid-wicket for four.
This shot may just be even better, it is a textbook cover drive that absolutely races to the boundary.

This Test will be gone by the end of day one, if Australia continue like this.

This has gotta be the last Ashes for so many of this England team. But based on the way they are playing today, maybe they should have already retired.
Max Headroom
Too much golf and relaxation, needs to be stopped, and replaced by basic cricketing skills, front foot discipline, catching, athleticism in all elements of fielding, and full paced straight bowling, in all these areas Aussies are miles ahead

That's a lovely shot. The technical work Marnus Labuschagne has done in between Test matches has just allowed him to just punch that down the ground.
Smith 28, Labuschagne 43
How often does this happen? After surviving that DRS review Marnus Labuschagne smashes the next ball away for four.
It is turning into one of those sessions for England.

If there was no DRS this afternoon, Smith and Labuschagne would both be in the dressing room.
It was going over the top!
Marnus Labuschagne survives and the Australian fans in the crowd are jubilant.
Marnus Labuschagne is not playing a shot as the ball from Stuart Broad jags back and clips his pads - the umpire's finger goes up but Labuschagne reviews.
Labuschagne wasn't playing a shot so it only has to go on to hit the stumps.
A huge moment!
There's a change of bowling as Stuart Broad returns in place of Ollie Robinson.
Can he make the difference?

It's still the best lunches in cricket by some level, even at county level playing for Middlesex. Sitting in the home dressing room was really weird. There's something about Lord's that no other ground has, the tradition, the feeling.
Ben Stokes' second over was much better than his first one.
A sure sign England are struggling - they are looking to get the ball changed. It goes through the umpire's hoop though so no dice.
But maybe Ben Stokes doesn't need it? He bowls at beauty to Steve Smith, who pushes forward at the ball and it shapes away before fizzing past his outside edge.
Smith nods back to Stokes in appreciation. He knows he was beaten by a good ball there.

Hope Australia declare tonight with 20 minutes to go to give us a good game.

I'm all for it, James. We all want this match to be exciting, don't we?
There is no lack of effort from the England bowlers, but they are struggling to make any inroads.
There is a quiet hush around Lord's. England need to find some inspiration from somewhere.

Conditions out there look like they are starting to favour the batter a bit more. A sell out crowd, I think after that first Test at Edgbaston, there's been big excitement, it's been tough to get tickets.
Steve Smith's instant review meant we all suspected this was not out - and so it proved.
There must have been a noise somewhere though because the umpire and several England players were convinced. But it certainly was not an edge off the bat.

They are ticking along nicely. Just two boundaries there which have been overpitched by Ben Stokes.
