I’m know he’s hit a couple of scores in his time but Crawley ALWAYS looks like a wicket waiting to happen.

England can breathe a sigh of relief, momentarily at least.

Ben Duckett took his time before viewing. He'll be glad he did.

The England batters exchange singles to end the over.

A reprieve for Duckett. It's been an extraordinary day of cricket. We've witnessed some stuff today.

It is missing off! It did too much from Mitchell Starc.

Ben Duckett was completely squared up by the delivery and hit on the back leg but it was swinging enough to miss the pegs.

Cheers from the Lord's crowd. Duckett survives.

Duckett might get away with this.

    Is that missing off stump?

  7. England reviewpublished at 2.3 overs

Oh dear. Mitchell Starc thinks he's got a second wicket in the over after hitting Ben Duckett in front.

The umpire raises his finger but Duckett reviews.

Not a great start for England that. Australia won't mind, they just need nine now.

    Feathered down the leg side!

Zak Crawley can't believe it, he's a tad unfortunate as he swishes at a full delivery that is swinging down leg, gets a thin edge and Alex Carey takes the catch.

A bonus for Mitchell Starc and Australia. They're nine wickets away from a 2-0 series lead.

  11. Eng 9-0published at 2 overs

    Target 371

Pat Cummins share the new ball and it is a relatively traditional over of Test bowling.

Zak Crawley drops the ball into the covers and takes a single, Ben Duckett gets one with a flick to fine leg.

But there is, of course, one short ball. Crunched out to deep square for one by Crawley.

That would've been some catch from Green.

  13. dropped catch

Duckett dropped on 0published at 1 over

    Eng 6-0

Ben Duckett is off the mark with a boundary but he could have been on his way for a duck.

It's a thick edge that flies to the left of Cameron Green at gully. He dives and gets hands to it at full stretch but can only turn it around the post.

Great effort but it will go down as a drop.

England are away! Mitchell Starc goes full to start but it is a long, long way wide of Zak Crawley's off stump - and it is signalled wide.

Four fielders on the boundary to start for Australia...

  17. Postpublished at 16:38 British Summer Time 1 July 2023

Thanks, Tom. An impressive effort to find new things to say as we essentially watched the same over on repeat during the afternoon session.

What can we expect after tea? Well, Mitchell Starc has the new ball and there are three men out on the leg side boundary...

    England need 371 to win.

Right, that's me done for now.

Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett are ready to go. As is Sam Drury to take you through the evening session.

I'm off for a lie down in a dark room.
