I appreciate as much as anyone we need to protect Test Cricket, but does anyone else agree bringing in free hits for no balls would be a lot of fun? Especially with these two bowling attacks constantly overstepping.

After getting away with a couple of deliveries sliding down leg to start, Todd Murphy settles in and a tidy first over costs just one - pushed to long off by Ben Stokes.
That'll be drinks. Another good hour for Australia has left Stokes and Moeen Ali trying to work out how to drag England back into this must-win game.
Ooh interesting. We're going to see some spin. Todd Murphy is on to bowl his offies on his Ashes debut.

You can play confidently on this pitch, it works for everybody. That's what I like about it.

Ben Stokes is defending solidly at the moment, occasionally using his feet to advance to Boland, and he adds his first run for a while with a quick single to mid-on.

I actually think England have gone too much into their shells. The positive approach gets them in better positions to hit balls, but with all the criticism, it all seems very tentative again. We’ll need something heroic to win, but we had better rediscover confidence.

Big responsibility for Ben Stokes and there hasn't been much Bazball, he's been careful. There's definitely been a slight change in their method and credit to Australia for not letting England get away.
