No, Chris Woakes. Don't do that.
He wafts at his first ball and is lucky not to get an edge through to the keeper.
Ugh. I feel completely deflated.

Arjun Singh: Now I think the game is done.
Charlotte: It’s done. Surely. Misery.
Mark Penny: That’s that then.

That's a really bad shot. Jonny Bairstow loses his shape. He's trying to hit it too hard. He had a great opportunity to do something special but he's gone for five. It's been a really testing week for Jonny. Australia will be happy to let Harry Brook take ones and target the England bowlers now.
Bairstow b Starc 5 (Eng 171-6)
It's unravelling.
Another fairly innocuous ball from Starc tempts Bairstow into a big drive that he can only manage to chop onto his stumps.
Australia firmly on top.
A single into the covers bring Harry Brook his 1000th Test run, and he is the fastest man to get there in terms of balls faced - with 1,058.

I’ve found myself surrounded by a group of fans who are suddenly quite a bit happier than they were a few minutes ago.
Need 85 runs to win
An inside edge... just past the stumps for four.
Thanks for that, Jonny. As if we weren't nervous enough.

Win predictor says 59% England and 41% Australia. It had gone up to 78% to England just before the wicket of Ben Stokes.

Why can’t England leave anything? How many leg side wafts?
George from York
Need 90 runs to win
Headingley is still in good spirits despite that hammer blow of losing Stokes.
Two Yorkshiremen at the crease now as Jonny Bairstow receives another huge roar.
He leaves his first ball outside off stump to complete a successful over for Australia.

It's a little feather and Ben Stokes doesn't review it. Mitchell Starc has got all England's left handers. There's a bit of panic now. We are one more wicket from a bouncer barrage which England will try to take on. Jonny Bairstow has a great chance here. He's not had a great series so he can go out and finish not out here and take England home.
Stokes c Carey b Starc 13 (Eng 161-5)
Oh no.
It's a horrible delivery from Starc, going way down leg side, and somehow Stokes manages to get some bat on it through to the keeper.
Australia are understandably delighted.
What a breakthrough.
What a twist.
Pain? What pain?
Stokes absolutely drills one through the covers for four as Mitchell Starc overpitches.
More, please.

I am still very calm and confident. If Australia get Ben Stokes out in the next 10 minutes my demeanour might change! It's just 20 overs of batting and getting over the line. I thought it would be a seven-wicket win but then I arrived at the ground and saw the clouds and revised that a little. However, it's perfect batting conditions now with the sun out.
Oh, nasty.
Ben Stokes clips one off his legs for a couple, and from the last ball is absolutely clattered somewhere between his legs. Could be groin, could be inside thigh, could be somewhere more painful.
Either way, he's on the ground for a long time, crouched, before eventually getting up.
Just what England's skipper needed. More pain.

There's a lady in the crowd doing some knitting. Maybe I'll take that up, might help keep me calm.
Harry Brook dabs a single from Scott Boland's first ball after lunch, and we're off.
A reminder. England need 97 more runs to win.
Thanks, Callum.
How are we all feeling? A few nerves flying about, I'm guessing...
Play is about to resume with England needing 98 runs and Australia six wickets.
Will we have another twist? I have little doubt we will.
