    Glamorgan 521-8 dec & 279-0, Derbyshire 318 & 51-0

Derbyshire openers Harry Came and Luis Reece roll remorselessly on reqriting the county's batting records, in what is now an otherwise dead game set to end at 10 to five.

Reece, on 155, is within range of his career-best 184 - and resetting his own Derbyshire county first-wicket record of 333, set with Billy Godleman six years ago.

Well, that didn't take long... 21.3 overs, to be precise.

That was the extent of the Kent innings as they were rolled for 85, with Dane Paterson taking 5-41 and Brett Hutton 4-44.

The final one? Believe it or not, that went to Haseeb Hameed - who was on to bowl his leg breaks to ensure Nottinghamshire didn't fall foul of the over rate and ended up with his maiden first-class wicket!

Hameed's third ball was clipped into the hands of midwicket by last man Arafat Bhuiyan.

    One to go!

Dane Paterson has five now as Arshdeep Singh swings him for six and then deposits the next one in the hands of Brett Hutton on the leg-side boundary.

Hutton will be hoping to pick up the last Kent wicket and complete his own five-for now.

This has just turned into an individual contest between Brett Hutton and Dane Paterson!

The Nottinghamshire seam duo are keeping pace with each other as they steamroller the visitors' batting, with four wickets each.

Hutton grabs the latest one as Alex Blake holes out to deep midwicket.

    Derbyshire 259-0 v Glamorgan

Harry Came follows fellow Derbyshire opener Luis Reece to his century.

After sharing a first-innings stand of 165, they have now gone way past that in the second innings.

The partnership is now up to 259 from 80 overs - and Glamorgan are taking the new ball.

That might hamper their chance of breaking the Derbyshire first wicket record of 333, already held by Reece, in partnership with Billy Godleman against Northants on the same home track in 2017.

    Notts v Kent 78-7 (target 407)

Matt Quinn opted to throw the bat - and why shouldn't he, given the approach of several players higher up the Kent batting order?

Quinn briefly gains success, drilling Dane Paterson through the covers for successive fours - but then he hooks the next ball and substitute fielder Ben Martindale judges it very well to take a diving catch at long leg.

Notts homing in on their first victory in six games now.

  19. Yorkshire accept CDC punishmentspublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 28 July 2023

48-point deduction in Championship. Also £400,000 fine. Four T20 Blast pts deducted

Yorkshire have accepted their punishments from the Cricket Disciplinary Commission following the "racist and discriminatory behaviour" outlined within the club.

As well as a £400,000 fine, of which £300,000 is suspended for two years, they have been hit with an immediate 48-point deduction in the 2023 County Championship.

That effectively all but ends their hopes of grabbing the second promotion place, dropping them from sixth place to bottom of Divison Two, below previous backmarkers Derbyshire - and now 63 points behind second-placed Sussex,.

They were also deducted four points in the T20 Blast, for this year's competition which concluded with Finals Day 15 days ago. The Tykes had finished fifth in the North Group - and missed out on a place in the last eight. But the table now gives them a final placing of eighth out of nine.

“At least next year we know where we stand," said Yorkshire coach Ottis Gibson. "We have four games left in the Championship this season. That’s 96 points that we can play for. We’ll try and win the next four games. That’s all we’re trying to do - win every game we play.”

  20. wicket
