The thing I want to see Australia do here now is go back to basics, hit the top of off-stump.

That is one of the shots of the day from Crawley, what a stroke. Those who have questioned his ability at the top of the order, look at him play now! He can play every shot.
If you're going to flash, flash hard. Zak Crawley throws everything at the shot and a thick edge goes over the slips for four.
The next shot is wonderful, driving through the covers for four.
Crawley moves onto 97.

Cummins keeps changing his mind. It's like his mind is cloudy and he can't make the right decision.

Pat Cummins goes short to Joe Root, but Root expertly controls the pull to get on top of the bounce and send the ball fizzing away for four.
Cummins, who is looking a bit befuddled, changes tactics again and goes full, but Root drives it beautifully away for four.
That was a gorgeous shot.
Pat Cummins has had enough. He is bringing himself on.
So how are you going to approach your innings, Joe?

This will be infuriating for the Australians.

Crawley wasn't far away from hitting the helmet.
It is a skilled shot if you can master it.
Glenn McGrath is shaking his head.
When your luck is in.
It is another thick inside edge from Zak Crawley that yet again evades the stumps and whistles fine for four.

Currently down the mains sewer in the middle of Bristol (not the best way to spend a Thursday) the connection down here is terrible and the commentary is dropping in and out. Only plus side is last time I was down the sewer and England was playing they racked up 500 in one day against Pakistan, hopefully history repeats itself!!
Denver - Smelling badly in Bristol
We have asked you to send in the wonderful places you follow the cricket before - but is this a contender for worst?
...but he departed the following over thanks to a wonderful catch from Usman Khawaja.
Moeen Ali survived on 53 when Pat Cummins shelled a chance at mid-wicket...

I think the drinks for England have come at the wrong time because they had a lot of momentum.

The crowd are not best pleased by what they see as time wasting by Australia.
They are enjoying the batting of a certain England opener, though…
“Zak Crawley has become an England player - he’s serious,” is the verdict of a man sat just along from me.
Everyone pauses for breath as the teams take drinks.
It has been a fantastic session for England so far. Australia will hope this little break hinders the hosts' concentration.

This has been an entertaining over from an England perspective. The crowd are loving it!

This session has been 12.2 overs with 83 runs.
Zak Crawley has found his Ferrari, he's in gear six and he's off. I don't think he's allowed to go this fast.
Crawley is going now and he might as well keep going.

There are two fielders at mid-wicket but Zak Crawley perfectly dissects them with a clip off the pads. He then strides forward before whipping the ball fine for another boundary the next delivery.
Pat Cummins, perhaps desperately, attempts to slow the game down by moving his field around, prompting boos from the crowd.
The delay does not make much difference though, as Crawley drills the ball down the ground and runs three.
The crowd are absolutely loving this.
