At the start of England's fourth-day chase at Headingley, England made a quietly effective start by taking a series of singles when the field was set back. Moeen Ali does similar here by dropping the ball into the off side and jogging through.

There hasn't really been any sign of Bazballing so far. It has all been pretty sensible, if occasionally sketchy, batting.

Very few balls go through or get dropped by Cameron Green, he's got great hands.

  3. Eng 15-1published at 5 overs

    Crawley 9, Moeen 5

Moeen Ali edges wide of Cameron Green in the gully! That's a let-off, even more so given the huge Green covers the space of two men in there.

Here's how Mitchell Starc ended Ben Duckett's stay at the crease...

I am expecting to have a very exciting day of Test cricket, England look like they are still getting a feel for the ball. Zak Crawley looks great at the crease.

That didn't work, did it? It's still unbearably tense as Josh Hazlewood zips through a maiden.

Moeen plays and misses again to Josh Hazlewood.

Time to relieve some of the tension with some more puns...

There's a lot of swing there for Mitchell Starc and Moeen Ali is lucky to not get an edge.

    Crawley 8, Moeen 1

Old Trafford is packed now - that huge temporary stand full to the very back seats. It's quiet, though, edgy and tense.

Moeen Ali is fortunate to get away with a loose swish to Starc outside off stump. The Australian left-armer is grinning at the sight of that.

“It’ll be nice to see England bowl again today.”

“As long as we’ve got 350 before then I don’t mind!”

Batting at number three was always going to be a big ask for Moeen Ali, this is a huge task now as he strides out...

    Gone!

Mitchell Starc delivers a hammer blow to England's Ashes hopes by removing Ben Duckett in the third over. It was full and swinging from Starc and Duckett, edging onto the front foot, gets a thin edge through to Alex Carey.

To start with Australia should try and squeeze Zak Crawley into playing a big shot. Throughout the whole series he's look great, he looks threatening and dangerous.
