Wow. That is some response from Mitch Marsh!
He plants his front foot and launches the ball back down the ground for six! Super shot.

Wow. That is some response from Mitch Marsh!

Big appeal as Stuart Broad raps Mitchell Marsh on the pad with an in-ducker.
Ben Stokes immediately signals that he thinks it is too high. It might have been sliding down leg, too.
Either way, no review.
With Mitchell Marsh in, I'd expect a very different approach from Australia. He doesn't tend to hold back.
The all-rounder shows that intent early, walking at Chris Woakes before clipping through square leg for two.
Marsh is squared up a touch last ball but gets his bat to it just in time. It's Stuart Broad time again...
We've had three overs since lunch. Enough time for two Stuart Broad wickets.
Here's the first of them, Usman Khawaja trapped lbw for 47...

Stuart Broad the crowd conductor is back.
The crowd at The Oval has been pretty quiet so far in this Test match but those two wickets in two Stuart Broad overs have woken them from their slumber.
They're making plenty of noise now - and Broad is calling for even more - as Mitchell Marsh sees off the last couple of balls in the over.

Stuart Broad, he loves the Ashes. If he gets on one of those special little streaky runs... it's a brilliant delivery. That's an absolute cracker that would get any of the best out in the world. That's a beauty. This is where that first session all of a sudden comes and bites Australia on the backside.
Head c Bairstow b Broad 4 (Aus 127-4)
Stuart Broad does it again!
It's a very similar delivery to the one earlier in the over but this time there is a feather of an edge through to Jonny Bairstow.
That round the wicket angle, Travis Head was drawn into playing and there was just enough movement to find the edge.
England and Broad are buoyant!
How did that miss?!
Full delivery from Stuart Broad to tempt Travis Head forward, it nips away to beat the edge and whistles millimetres past the off stump.
Chris Woakes starts this off from the other end after lunch and sees his first ball whipped through mid-wicket by Steve Smith. Four.
It's four more to end the over, more byes as the ball goes down leg and swings out of reach of the diving Jonny Bairstow.
Stuart Broad has now taken 150 Ashes wickets. He is the first England player to reach that milestone.
Based on CricViz's captaincy grid, which rates each bowler's likeliness of getting each batter out, England's best bowler to bowl at Travis Head would have been Moeen Ali...

Hopefully England don't just bowl short at Head. On this track, it's just doing a bit. Why don't you have a couple of overs of just orthodox stuff.

Travis Head is in at five for Australia and lets a full delivery, wide of off stump, go through to Jonny Bairstow.
That ends a wicket maiden from Stuart Broad. Suddenly, the glacial pace at which Australia scored before lunch, looks a little less sensible.
If England get another one quickly, the tourists could be in a spot of bother.

Big, big wicket for England. Khawaja has been there for about four and a half hours. England needed a wicket straight after lunch and they've got him. Australia haven't particularly gone anywhere, that one hasn't gone anywhere. A good delivery from Broad.
Khawaja lbw b Broad 47 (Aus 115-3)
Three reds! Usman Khawaja has to go!
It was just a full, straight ball from Stuart Broad but Khawaja played all round it and was rapped on the pad.
He missed it by a distance and ball-tracking shows the ball was going on to hit leg stump.
Big wicket for England in the first over of the session.

Broad was waving around in absolute certain knowledge, but Khawaja has reviewed.
Aus 115-2
Stuart Broad thinks he's made the breakthrough and Usman Khawaja is given out lbw.
He talks to Steve Smith before calling for the review.
Here come the players, let's hope for a more entertaining session than we had this morning!
Stuart Broad - fishing hook now removed - will bowl the first over of the afternoon...
