What a morning for England. They wanted to take wickets and they have used the dampness out there. They're putting the pressure on Australia. Head and Smith need to do a big job here.

I'll never forgive Manchester for robbing us of 3-2! It will be bittersweet today.

Still seven wickets to take first, Shaf...

    Aus 175-3

A brilliant first hour for England (we started at 11:10 BST due to rain), picking up three Australia wickets.

There's still movement out there for them, even for Mark Wood.

We're going to have an absolute thriller to end a superb series. Don't go anywhere.

Hang it in the Louvre. Or, at the very least, Mark Wood's front room.

    Ouch!

Travis Head has just been hit in a rather delicate area first ball by Mark Wood.

    Head immediately grabs the area.

That was good commitment from Smith, it was there to hit. When you're looking to play a stroke in these conditions you really have to fully commit to it.

    Target 384

Width from Chris Woakes and Steve Smith gratefully bunts it through the covers.

It does go in the air because the ball pitches in a bit of rough but Smith is able to get it through the gaps.

We're just seeing replays of the Labuschagne wicket and Stuart Broad gave Mark Wood a gigantic cuddle in celebration. Adorable.

Zak Crawley has caught really well in this series. Really, really well.

That was a beauty from Wood. Crawley has caught really well and looks a steady pair of hands. This has been an incredible first hour and the ball is doing plenty.

Wood makes Labuschagne play! He's done it again, it's a big wicket.

Another one! England have three in the first hour.

Mark Wood draws Marnus Labuschagne into playing and he finds the outside edge.

It seems to take an age to get to Zak Crawley at second slip but the England opener does really well to get down and take a superb low catch.

    Are England on top?

That was like tennis ball bounce off the pitch. Labuschagne needed a ladder to reach that one. It's a sheepish look from Mark Wood.

  16. Aus 169-2published at 48.4 overs

Wow. A short ball from Mark Wood absolutely flies over Marnus Labuschagne and Jonny Bairstow.

I'm not sure Bairstow would have got there with a mini trampoline to jump on!

It's been a completely different story to what it was yesterday afternoon, there's more energy and movement about.

In terms of movement off the pitch, I have looked at all the sessions in this series so far and there hasn't been more lateral movement off the pitch than England have got so far today.

The conditions do seem to be working better for England.

  19. Aus 164-2published at 48 overs

Chris Woakes is still finding plenty of movement as he beats Marnus Labuschagne, who is stuck on the crease a little.

Woakes has bowled five overs now. Will that be the end of his spell?
