It was nothing like Alastair Cook's farewell or anything like that but there was plenty of applause for David Warner there as he left the field for the final time in this country.

Yes, there have been those bad moments, really bad. But he's made Ashes cricket a lot more fun for more than a decade and I thank him for that.

Chris Woakes is a master in these conditions.

    Almost two in the over.

What a series Chris Woakes is having.

He beats Marnus Labuschagne as he looks to defend on a fifth-stump line.

The number three is up and running with a single though as Woakes drops a bit short.

That was a beauty from Woakes, a little bit of swing and seam and drawing Warner forward.

It just felt like something was going to give. We won't see Warner playing Ashes cricket in England again. Love him or hate him, let's give him a hand.

Farewell Warner. Thank you for the entertainment.

    Warner's gone!

Superb from Chris Woakes, who has become a real menace for Warner since returning to the side.

The over started with an lbw appeal, and then Woakes finds a little bit of movement and bounce to draw a feather of an edge from Warner.

Khawaja and Warner have taken a leaf out of England's book. They've been up and down the track and not letting the bowlers get into a rhythm. It's good batting.

It's been a better start from England, they've given themselves a talking to after yesterday..

  9. Aus 140-0published at 41 overs

    Target 384

Lovely from Usman Khawaja as he just gently leans on a straight drive and picks up a couple through mid-on.

The left-hander is normally excellent on the short ball but gets in a tangle with an attempted pull and ends up missing. It brings oohs and ahhs, including from Stuart Broad's partner Mollie King in the stands.

Broad again beats Khawaja to end the over.

England are in the game this morning. We didn't say that too many times yesterday.

Aggers is right, it pitched three or four inches outside leg stump.

    Encouraging signs for England though.

I think that pitched outside leg.

  13. Aus 137-0published at 39.4 overs

England struggled to create any chances yesterday but they've already had a couple of shouts this morning.

Chris Woakes hits the pads of Usman Khawaja but England opt against the review.

Woakes himself wasn't sure about height. Joe Root thought it was pitching outside leg.

  16. Aus 136-0published at 39 overs

    Oooh!

A beauty from Stuart Broad as a little bit of movement beats Usman Khawaja, who has a tentative prod.

A purse of the lips from Broady.

These two batters have looked more proactive. That can only be a positive thing for the Aussies.

Appeals from Stuart Broad as he thinks he's got David Warner lbw as the Australia opener shimmies slightly down the track.

The slip cordon tell Broad there's a little inside edge and Broad is willing to accept it and trudges back to his mark.
