    Kent v Lancashire 327 all out

    That wicket marks the end of a fascinating opening day, which has really yo-yoed one way and the other.

    Kent were cock-a-hoop at 18-3 before Josh Bohannon's 113 led a Lancashire fightback.

    The home side wrestled back momentum with four wickets for 23 to leave the visitors 240-8.

    But Matty Hurst's unbeaten 76 has guided Lancashire to a competitive total, adding 87 for the last two wickets.

    Kent claim the three bowling points they wanted and will have England opener Zak Crawley out to open the batting tomrrow.

    That could be massive for them.

    A quick glance at the skies around Trent Bridge go make good viewing as it has gone very dark, albeit with one or two rays of sunshine.

    So thank goodness for the floodlights as we carry on.

    Ryan Higgins and John Simpson are fighting really hard for Middlesex.

    What a pity after a terrific innings as Kashif Ali falls seven short of a maiden ton.

    He gets through his shot a touch quickly from Dom Bess, who takes a fine, diving one--handed catch with his left to get rid of him.

    Yorkshire needed that to end a partnership of 155.

    Aron Nijjar finally ends the resistance of Will Williams.

    He gets past Williams' defences and the finger goes up, but the tail-ender has provided a good foil for Matty Hurst in a partnership of 72.

    A third bowling point for Kent - they now have four more points than Middlesex.

    Dom Sibley snicks Mohammad Abbas through to the keeper and goes without scoring.

    That'll bring some cheer to Essex... although they're facing their own problems against Northants.

    Bears seamer Chris Rushworth has just nipped out Tom Abell and Lewis Gregory in consecutive overs to leave Somerset 96-8.

    Rushworth has gone past 50 wickets for the seventh time in a season in this innings and now has 4-24.

    A flick into the legside gets another single for Kashif Ali and it sees him and Brett D'Oliveira reach 150 - it is a club record fifth wicket stand against Yorkshire for the Pears duo.

    Kashif has 88 and D'Oliveira, 65.

  12. Centuries for Clark and Bedingham

    David Bedingham has just reached his fifth century of the season and in doing so helped Durham to three batting points against Leicestershire. Which means they have 52 for the campaign.

    It's the South African's 18th first-class century and his 10th for Durham. He's now approaching 1,000 runs for the season for the second time in three years. He currently has 963.

    Bedingham and Graham Clark added 208 for the fifth wicket, with Clark falling lbw to Chris Wright for 119. That was with the fifth delivery of the new ball.

    Clark is enjoying his best season in the Championship and has made 818 runs so far. It's been a Lazarus-like resurrection of his red-ball career, which until the arrival of new coach Ryan Campbell this year, appeared to be over.

    Northants 260-6 v Essex

    What a special innings this is from the Northants batter.

    Rob Keogh brings up his 150 off just 136 balls with his 23rd boundary.

    Essex's title hopes are out of their hands but they'll want to end this innings quickly to retain any chance.

    Nottinghamshire v Middlesex 103-3

    John Simpson gets up and running with two legside fours in three balls from Lyndon James.

    It also takes the Middlesex total into three figures.

    Remember, they must reach 250 to collect any batting points.

    Hampshire 219 v Surrey 0-0

    Surrey openers Rory Burns and Dom Sibley are in the middle at the Ageas Bowl.

    If the visitors score 300 inside 110 overs and collect two batting bonus points - they'll be county champions for a 22nd time.

    A ball of absolute filth from Aron Nijjar is steered to the fence for another four for Matty Hurst.

    That helps his team collect a second batting point for reaching 300.

    Kent have seven overs to try to take these two remaining Lancashire wickets.

    Stevie Eskinazi is hit on the helmet by a Lyndon James delivery.

    The physio comes on and Eskinazi goes off after a delay, for a head injury assessment.

    As Eskinazi goes up the steps, down comes wicketkeeper John Simpson as the new batter.

    Matty Hurst gets one through legside and that is his second 50 in his second first-class match.

    A terrific start to his Championship career for the teenager.

    Batting with number 10 Will Williams, he has shown great maturity in their partnership of 56.

  19. Five-wicket haul for Tom Lawes

    Hants 219 (Abbas lbw Lawes 0) v Surrey

    The 20-year-old finishes Hampshire off for 219 and collects 5-27.

    A superb bowling display from Surrey having won the toss.

    Ben Brown’s 78 the only resistance of note for Hampshire.

    300 runs inside 110 overs will now hand Surrey another title.

    Rob Keogh is getting stuck into Umesh Yadav.

    The Indian seamer was taken for six and next over Keogh goes three fours in four balls before another maximum!

    Superb stuff from Keogh, onto 140 from 124 balls, and Northants have a batting point.
