That's a fourth hundred of the campaign for Derbyshire opener Luis Reece and he gets there from 112 balls.

The visitors now lead by 349 and you'd think a declaration must be on the cards in the near future.

  3. dropped catch

Swindells dropped on 0published at 11:51 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    Durham 457-8d v Leics 143 & 56-4

Harry Swindells was a Leicestershire hero in the final of the One Day Cup with 117 against Hampshire.

He gets a life on his second ball as he pushes forward and edges low to Scott Borthwick, who dives from second slip but the chance is grassed.

Low to his left and not easy at all, but it was a chance.

  4. wicket

    WICKET Jennings c Bell-Drummond b Leaning 74published at 11:48 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    Kent 494 v Lancs 327 & 197-2

Both Lancashire openers have gone now in successive Jack Leaning overs. Keaton Jennings pushes forward defensively, the ball finds the edge and DB moves to his left to take the catch in both hands.

Steven Croft comes out ot bat with Lancashire just 30 ahead.

  5. Yorkshire set 360 victory targetpublished at 11:45 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    Yorks 262-6 dec v Worcs 389 & 232-2 dec

Jack Haynes hammers a long hop from James Wharton over mid-wicket for six at the start of a new over and Worcestershire declare.

Haynes is 109 not out, from 89 balls, and Jake Libbey remains unbeaten 113 off 84. They put on 223 in 28 overs, but most of those runs were scored against part-time bowlers.

Wharton took 0-108 from 9.1 overs and Bean 0-101 from 10. They may need to work on their bowling over the winter.

  6. wicket

WICKET Kimber b Fernando 3published at 11:44 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    Durham 457-8d v Leics 143 & 56-4

Louis Kimber plays across the line to Vishwa Fernando and survives an LBW shout. Just outside the line.

    Got him this time!

Kimber is stuck on the crease as he misses a defensive prod and loses his off stump.

The new batter is Harry Swindells.

  7. Postpublished at 11:42 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    Durham 457-8d v Leics 143 & 56-3

A shout for LBW by Fernando against Lewis Hill but that's too leg side.

Lewis Hill drives the third ball through mid off for three.

It's a bit overcast at Durham HQ currently, where most of the spectators are in coats.

A change of bowling at the Lumley End, where Jonny Bushnell is coming on.

The third ball is driven down the ground by Louis Kimber for one.

Hill almost plays the next ball on as he pushes tentatively on the front foot and gets an inside edge.

  8. wicket

WICKET Higgins c Moores b Paterson 15published at 11:41 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    Notts 384 v Middlesex 366 & 107-4

Dane Paterson takes a wicketImage source, Rex Features

Brett Hutton hasn't been the only prolific wicket-taker for Nottinghamshire this summer - Dane Paterson has just reached 50 for the campaign too!

First-innings centurion Ryan Higgins is the man to depart, trying to steer Paterson through the slip area but feathering it through to Tom Moores instead.

John Simpson comes out to join Sam Robson - both members of the Middlesex side who were relegated to Division Two six years ago and anxious not to repeat that experience today...

  9. wicket

    WICKET Wells c Bell-Drummond b Leaning 117published at 11:41 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    Kent 494 v Lancs 372 & 195-1

Having been hit straight for six by Luke Wells in his previous over, Kent skipper Jack Leaning takes revenge by bringing his 195-ball innings to an end.

Wells goes for a cover drive but edges to first slip where Daniel Bell-Drummond takes a good catch above his head.

George Bell is in at three, with Keaton Jennings 72 not out.

  10. Milestone for Rainepublished at 11:41 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    Durham 457-8 dec v Leics 143 & 54-3

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Ben Raine has bowled nearly 500 overs for Durham this season and has recorded a milestone on the final day of the season, reaching 60 Championship wickets for the first time.

He took up the mantle as the side's main bowler following the departure of Chris Rushworth to Warwickshire last year and he has led from the front. Nobody in the side comes near in terms of overs bowled.

He's taken six wickets in this match. The first innings saw him take 5-51. But incredibly, given how many dismissals he's been responsible for, that was his first five-for of the year.

Durham will be presented with the Division Two trophy later today, the prize they set out to get at the start of the campaign. And talking of prizes, wicket number 60 was an absolute gift as Umar Amin left a ball which clattered into his stumps.

  11. Postpublished at 11:34 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    Durham 457-8d v Leics 143 & 51-3

Vishwa Fernando replaces Ben Raine in the attack and the Sri Lankan starts his spell with a maiden.

Short leg has moved back to gully for Matt Potts, who spears a bouncer down the leg side.

Louis Kimber takes Leicestershire to 50, pulling a short ball round the corner for one.

Lewis Hill drops the next ball safely to mid on for one more.

  12. 50 runs

for Sam Robsonpublished at 11:33 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    Notts 384 v Middlesex 366 & 97-3

Sam Robson (Middlesex)Image source, Rex Features

Sam Robson goes past 50 for the fifth time this season, cutting Dane Paterson to the fence to reach the landmark from 56 balls.

Middlesex would love him to turn that into a century - and do it very quickly - as they fight to give themselves enough time to have a go at the home side this afternoon.

The lead is just 79 at this stage.

  13. 100 runs

for Jack Haynespublished at 11:33 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    Yorks 262-6 dec v Worcs 389 & 213-2

Jack Haynes will be a Nottinghamshire player next year, but he signs off for Worcestershire with a 74-ball century as he spanks a 'hit me' delivery from part-timer Finlay Bean for his 13th four.

The Worcestershire lead is 341 and you'd assume the declaration won't be long coming.

  14. 100 runs

for Jake Libbypublished at 11:31 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    Yorks 262-6 dec v Worcs 389 & 203-2

Jake Libby reaches his fourth hundred of the season and certainly the easiest. He can barely reach a looping full toss from James Wharton well outside off stump but managed to push it away for two and goes through to three figures from 81 balls.

  15. Luis Reece sets Derbyshire recordpublished at 11:30 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    Glamorgan 301-5 dec v Derbys 450-8 dec & 155-2

Luis Reece (Derbyshire)Image source, Rex Features

What a stellar run of form for Derbyshire's Luis Reece, who has set a county record by scoring his seventh consecutive first-class half-century.

Reece has also passed 1,000 runs for the season, steering Jamie McIlroy for a couple to move on to 72 not out as Derbyshire look to set up a run chase at Cardiff.

The lead is above 300 now.

  16. Postpublished at 11:26 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    Durham 457-8d v Leics 143 & 48-3

Matt Potts is testing Lewis Hill out with some short balls here and Hill drops his hands as he sways inside the line.

Close! The last ball is edged off the shoulder of the bat but lands safely on the off side.

    That could've gone anywhere.

  17. 100 runs

for Luke Wellspublished at 11:22 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    Kent 494 v Lancs 327 & 172-0

Lancashire's Luke WellsImage source, Rex Features

A single by Keaton Jennings gives Luke Wells the strike for the final ball of Jack Leaning's over.

He cuts it away for his 15th four and reaches his second Championship century of the season from 176 balls.

    It's his 24th in first-class cricket.

  18. wicket

WICKET Eskinazi run out 9published at 11:21 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    Notts 384 v Middlesex 366 & 77-3

Nottinghamshire wicketkeeper Tom MooresImage source, Rex Features

Oh dear, oh dear... the quest for quick runs leaves Stephen Eskinazi stranded as he attempts a quick single and gets halfway down the track before realising the shot has deflected off non-striker Sam Robson and given bowler Steven Mullaney the chance to throw at his stumps.

Mullaney duly completes the run-out and Middlesex are three down, leading by 59.

  19. Postpublished at 11:21 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    Durham 457-8d v Leics 143 & 47-3

Matt Potts concedes just one run off the bat in his latest over.

He's been a key player for Durham this summer, with 54 wickets in a season that has seen them promoted to Division One with time to spare.

Ben Raine drops a tad short to Lewis Hill and the Leicestershire captain pulls the ball square for four.

Another short ball to end the over and Hill hooks to backward square for four more.

    Breaking

    Sussex 202 & 505-7 dec v Gloucs 195 & 173

Jack Carson picks up his 100th first-class wicket to complete a resounding win for Sussex as last man Zaman Akhter is trapped lbw.

The Gloucestershire tail-ender enjoyed himself at the end there, reverse-sweeping Carson for six, but his is the ninth wicket to fall and, with Ed Middleton unable to bat, it's all over.

Skipper Graeme van Buuren remains unbeaten on 67, while Sean Hunt and Brad Currie take three wickets apiece for Sussex, who should now finish third in the table.

Winless Gloucestershire are set for the wooden spoon, as long as Yorkshire avoid defeat today.
