    Kent 494 v Lancs 327 & 309-7

A no-ball from Nathan Gilchrist brings up a half-century stand between Josh Bohannon and Tom Bailey for Lancashire.

They came together when Tom Hartley was caught off Yuzvendra Chahal with the score on 258-6 and have batted with maturity to extend the lead to 142.

    Notts 64-1 (target 207) v Middlesex

Finally, a breakthrough for Middlesex courtesy of a careless stroke by Haseeb Hameed.

The opener pulls a short ball from Tom Helm straight to square leg and he's on his way, with Nottinghamshire needing another 143 for victory.

Captain Steven Mullaney emerges to join Ben Slater in the middle.

    Glamorgan 67-2 (target 384) v Derbys

It's probably fair to say Glamorgan are not giving this target serious consideration.

Runs have dried up almost completely since Eddie Byrom's departure, with Kiran Carlson scoring just three so far and Colin Ingram on 12.

Derbyshire have brought ex-Worcestershire quick Pat Brown on for a bowl in the hope that another quick wicket or two can keep their own victory hopes alive.

    Notts 58-0 (target 207) v Middlesex

Absolutely nothing happening here for Middlesex's bowlers as they search for something that might give them a glimmer of hope.

India off-spinner Jayant Yadav is on at one end, with the pace of Tom Helm at the other, but Nottinghamshire openers Ben Slater and Haseeb Hameed really haven't had any cause for concern.

Unless something extraordinary happens, Middlesex are headed for Division Two this afternoon - irrespective of what might happen at Canterbury.

    Kent 494 v Lancs 327 & 302-7

The shackles are broken as Nathan Gilchrist digs one in at Tom Bailey's body and the Lancashire batter goes up on his toes and flicks it away fine for four.

The total passes 300, Bailey is 31 not out and Josh Bohannon has 32.

    Yorks 135-2 - target 360

Joe Leach bangs the ball in short and Shan Masood drops the ball safely around the corner for one.

A minimum of 40 overs left in this game and Yorkshire need another 226.

Attritional cricket now at Canterbury with just singles added in the last three overs.

A draw will be ok for Kent as things stand at Trent Bridge, but one or two Middlesex wickets will get those nerves jangling in the Garden of England.

James Wharton is keen to get on with it.

He's forward to Josh Baker, lofting the left arm spinner on bended knee down the ground for a maximum.

He has 15 runs off just 19 balls in all.

That's his fourth 50 of the season, with a best effort this summer of 192 against Glamorgan.

He reaches the landmark with a flick to square leg on the front foot off his 57th ball, bowled by Joe Leach.

    Six fours in that knock.

    Notts 50-0 (target 207) v Middlesex

Nottinghamshire have slowed down slightly after that frantic splurge of boundaries in the first five overs, but they're still well on course to reach this target and send Middlesex down.

Ben Slater is 29 not out, with Haseeb Hameed on 19 and the home side need 157 more for victory.

WICKET Byrom b Chappell 32published at 14:17 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    Glamorgan 62-2 (target 384) v Derbys

Deserved wicket for Zak Chappell, who's bowled very tidily for Derbyshire and has just sent down his fifth maiden in eight overs.

This latest one's a wicket maiden as the paceman pierces the defences of Eddie Byrom and hits middle and off to give the visitors their second wicket.

Kiran Carlson comes out to join Colin Ingram, with that target of 384 looking a very long way off.

Durham wrap up victory with a session to spare as Josh Hull is forward, trying to work Matt Parkinson through leg and outside edges the ball low to Matt Potts at slip.

A fantastic season comes to an end for Durham, who have topped this division by a huge margin, winning seven games and racking up maximum batting points on no less than eight occasions.

    39 bowling points as well.

233 points. Their third highest end of season haul.

They are deservedly in Division One next summer and have the resources to remain there for a long time.

Just as one might speculate on record tail end stands, Durham have the breakthrough.

The last batter is Josh Hull.

No major pressure on Kent - unless Middlesex start taking Notts wickets at Trent Bridge.

They are persisting with their spinners but Josh Bohannon and Tom Bailey have now been together for nine overs for Lancashire.

The Red Rose county are 109 ahead with 44 overs to be bowled before the close.
