But Ajinkya Rahane has withstood it all.

He watched a wicket fall from the second ball of the day, watched Shardul Thakur get a proper working-over by Pat Cummins, copped a few bruises himself - and went to lunch unbeaten on 89.

    A classy player.

    And a few more chances...

And speaking of irritating, I'm sure that's how Australia have felt at times today.

Shardul Thakur, who was all over the place at the start of his innings, has stuck in with Ajinkya Rahane to add 108 for the seventh wicket.

It's not been without chances, though...

    Thanks, Matt.

I was hoping to get my washing on the line before I took over, but my washing machine was doing that thing where it says it's got a minute left but in reality it's about 15.

First world problems, I know, but it is deeply irritating.

    Very exciting, indeed.

There's a long way to go for India to be really back into this but they have shown some real fight.

I'm off to find some lunch. Ffion Wynne is here to take over.

It has been a very exciting couple of hours. I like how India have battled, they are still going, and Australia are still in a strong position but the game has had something about it today.

The partnership has been crucial. They have been battered and bruised but they have seen it out and it has been entertaining.

When Scott Boland bowled KS Bharat with the second ball of the day I did not see that coming.

Ajinkya Rahane and Shardul Thakur had to dig in, take some blows and ride their luck but have put on 108 runs.

India have recovered from 152-6 to 260-6.

And that is lunch. Pat Cummins boots the ball away in frustration after the final ball.

    Rattled?

The bowler and the keeper have got to be stronger there. Neither of them went up, they clearly didn't hear anything.

  14. Australia reviewpublished at 12:29 British Summer Time 9 June 2023

Now Australia are going for a review of their own.

Steve Smith thinks he has heard an edge but no-one else did...

  15. Ind 260-6published at 59.4 overs

To make matters worse for Australia, it was clipping leg stump. It would have been out.

Pat Cummins is usually Mr Consistency. Mr Reliable.

Pat Cummins, for the second time in the innings, has bowled a no-ball when it looked like he had taken a wicket.

    The crowd goes bonkers.

He asks for a review but it looked good.
