I think it was a question from Rohit Sharma if there was an edge, India are desperate to break this partnership here.

Ravindra Jadeja whizzes through an over in the blink of an eye in his trademark fashion.
There's a bit of excitement as a ball turns and fizzes past Green's edge, but keeper Bharat advises the skipper not to review - and rightly.
A maiden.
There's a lot to dissect from that, John.
It's definitely Australia's bowling that has caught my attention this week, though. I think I forgot how good they were.
Daft of me, I know.

So, England's plan is to turn Tests into 2 innings limited overs style matches on flat surfaces trusting our sloggers to out slog theirs. Issues: Starc's full swing at speed negates the flat pitch, can we bowl them out, their bowling is much better than ours and finally is their batting worse than ours?

Alex Carey is a very dangerous batter, if he's out there he is going to get some runs and is going to get them quickly.

That's more like it. Alex Carey latches on to some width from Mohammed Siraj and carves it through the covers for four.
Virat Kohli grimaces from the slips.

Snack watch. Someone has cracked open a can of Pringles. Fair enough, but no points for creativity. Further down the row, a couple have a punnet of strawberries and are prepared enough to have their own paper napkins. I'm excited to see what else may come from their beige coolbag. They have the potential to set a high standard.
Alex Carey reverse-sweeps the first ball for a single, and Cameron Green blocks out the rest of the over.
He's in no rush this morning, clearly.
Cheers and applause ripples around a sun-baked Oval as Ravindra Jadeja is on to bowl for the first time today.

That's a wonderful shot! The power and timing of Cameron Green, it's the best shot of the day.

Australia could show a bit more intent. Probably got enough runs already. They are just using up time and with potential for bad weather they could regret this slow scoring rate.
Eels in Oxford
Cameron Green drives beautifully down the ground for four, which makes a nice change from the five leaves earlier in the over.
Marnus Labuschagne, meanwhile, will be wishing he'd left this one.
Andy Zaltzman

It's been very difficult for Australia especially since the wicket of Travis Head, since then they've scored just 24 runs in 13 and a half overs.
It's been the slowest scoring passage of the test match so far.

That tight single is indicative of Australia scoring slowly.

Oh, nearly!
Green dabs straight to Mohammed Siraj at mid-on, calls for a run, but Siraj fumbles.
That's the most exciting thing that's happened in a while. That tells you all you need to know about how Australia have started this game.
I like your optimism, Matt.

I'm not seeing anything from the Aussies that worries me about The Ashes.

Shubman Gill should have stopped that. His right hand has got so much tape on it, it looks like he's had a hand operation on it.
Edged! And four. It didn't carry to Shubman Gill, but it bursts through his fingers and trickles to the boundary.
The India fans in the crowd are cheering every dot ball as if it's a wicket. And there are plenty of them to cheer.
Cameron Green has 14 from 51 balls.
It's a fair point, Chris.
It'll be an interesting insight though, to see whether England's approach has rubbed off on other teams.
Will India go for it no matter what, and risk being bowled out, or just block for the whole day?
