Already far too many runs on the board for India to have a hope. Bazball has us all expecting 300+ chases to happen. England are so good.

India know it's a big target already in the last innings of a Test match but they have to believe that they can do it.

  3. Aus 128-5published at 48 overs

    Another Mohammed Shami maiden.

No fireworks from Cameron Green yet.

  4. Aus 128-5published at 47 overs

    Lead by 301

Alex Carey gets off the mark with an edged four, and that extends Australia's lead past 300.

One of those mornings where every run feels so important.

It was a bit tentative outside the off-stump and went quickly to first slip.

Labuschagne got hit in the thigh in the ball before and that was a stinger. Now I think the door is slightly ajar for India here.

That's the wicket that India wanted!

    The breakthrough!

Marnus Labuschagne nicks a good length ball to first slip, and stands there in disbelief.

He was ready to dig in for the day, but after a couple more nasty blows to the body, he may have been a little unsettled.

    An opening for India.

  8. Aus 124-4published at 46 overs

    A maiden.

This is one of the problems with the excitement of England's approach.

I'm not used to having to try and describe passages of play like this any more.

This is where the batters have got to try to block those nasty, rearing balls out of their minds. You can't afford to be tentative.

But that is a lot easier said than done!

  10. Aus 124-4published at 45 overs

Labuschagne was struck several times yesterday as the ball nipped and bounced nastily.

It's taken him just two balls to get pinned this morning. And in an uncomfortable area, painful to 50% of the population.

Just the one from the over.

  11. Aus 124-4published at 44.2 overs

    Lead by 297

Green blocks the first, and scrambles a single from the second.

Post-match yesterday, Marnus Labuschagne said that Australia would concentrate on "crawling" to build their lead.

    Great.

    Here we go then.

A huge first hour, where India could get themselves back in it, or Australia could take it away from them.

It'll be Umesh Yadav with the first ball to Cameron Green.

India all-rounder Shardul Thakur on TMS: "If we think too ahead of the game, it would be silly. We want to take things as they come.

"I was in a bit of pain batting but I just had to keep negotiating, it was needed for the team."

There was some turn and bounce for Ravindra Jadeja yesterday, so if that continues today, I wonder how a certain Ravichandran Ashwin will be feeling ...

Australia spinner Nathan Lyon on Test Match Special: "It seems there is a little bit there, I was intrigued watching Ravindra Jadeja bowl yesterday and it seemed to turn.

"But then I was with him in the lift down earlier and he said it wasn't spinning from the middle of the wicket."

It would be great if Australia ended up setting India about 380 to win. I hope they dangle that carrot.

It's a packed day of cricket as over at New Road, it's finals day of the Charlotte Edwards Cup.

There are plenty of England stars in action, with the likes of Danni Wyatt, Charlie Dean, Sophie Ecclestone and Emma Lamb in action for the play-off between Southern Vipers and Thunder at 12:00 BST.

The Blaze, including Tammy Beaumont and Sarah Glenn, will face the winner of that game in the final at 16:00 BST.

Commentary of both games will be available on the BBC Sport website.

It's Australia's game to lose, but it will be interesting to see how much longer they bat on for.

There's a certain Virat Kohli in India's line-up, of course - and everyone knows just how much he loves a chase.

The pitch is getting harder to bat on, but he was certainly up for it yesterday.

Day three provided us with a fair bit of entertainment, including Steve Smith kindly letting England fans exactly what they need to do to get in his head for the next six weeks.

I'm sure sales of red t-shirts have soared in the UK since yesterday.
