  1. dropped catch

McGrath dropped on sevenpublished at 22 overs

Another chance put down - but it was a mighty fine effort from Tammy Beaumont.

It is a late cut from Tahlia McGrath that flies towards Beaumont at backward point, but she cannot quite hold on despite diving full stretch to her left.

Tahlia McGrath struggles with the short ball so I'd quite like to see some bumpers.

This could have been costly for England, but Sarah Glenn made up for this drop a few overs later.

Good opportunity here for England to put on the squeeze.

  5. Aus 107-3published at 21 overs

The thing is with the Australia line-up is you work hard to get one class player out and another just strolls out in their place.

Speaking of which, Tahlia McGrath is the new batter. She immediately gets off the mark with a cut to point.

That's a really soft dismissal. I think that ball just skidded on more than Ellyse Perry was anticipating and just rushed her.

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 20.2 overs

    Perry c Sciver-Brunt b Glenn 41 (Aus 106-3)

    Ellyse Perry finally goes!

It wasn't the best ball but I doubt Sarah Glenn will care after dropping Perry a few minutes earlier.

It is dropped in too short and Perry looks to help herself with a pull into the on side, but perfectly picks out Nat Sciver-Brunt at mid-wicket.

  8. Aus 106-2published at 20 overs

Sophie Ecclestone has brought an element of control to the England attack, she has gone for just two boundaries from her five overs so far.

Everybody in the field is giving it everything, there's no question of trying. Sarah Glenn has worked really hard on her fielding and sometimes we focus on what we're supposed to be good at instead of being in the field.

This is why Australia are all really good all-rounders, they can bat, bowl and field.

  10. Aus 104-2published at 19 overs

Katherine Sciver-Brunt called it, Sarah Glenn is straight into the attack for her first bowl in an ODI for two years.

Australia knock it around for six singles. Already it feels rather ominous for England, especially if they keep missing chances in the field.

I'd like to see a change with Sarah Glenn coming on. Whilst we're seeing a change of gears in Perry, bringing on Glenn would just switch off the pace for her.

  12. dropped catch

Perry dropped on 36published at 18 overs

Ellyse Perry has been dropped again.

She goes for an aerial drive that loops towards to Sarah Glenn at mid-off, but she spills the catch.

    Another chance missed for England.

I'd been feeling that Ellyse Perry was about to change gears and Nat Sciver-Brunt has just offered a back of a length to allow her to.

  14. Aus 95-2published at 17 overs

Beth Mooney is offered some width by Nat Sciver-Brunt and she takes full advantage, with a big swing of the arms sending the ball over extra cover and away for four.

Later in the over Ellyse Perry rocks back and pulls through mid-wicket to the rope.

After an over or two of consolidation these two are putting their foot on the accelerator again.

I think both teams are on par, England potentially have the mental edge. We needed catches and to take their opportunities and England have.

  16. Aus 85-2published at 16 overs

A brilliant shot from Ellyse Perry as she charges Sophie Ecclestone and clatters the ball through the covers for four. Great technique from the Aussie opener.

Meanwhile, the TMS team at Bristol have just been sent a cake.

    I'm not jealous at all...

Looking at this wicket and how it's playing, that was way too easy. I would have a deep square out. You have to think about where you want to cut off the batter's strength.
