Re Rich’s comment about sportsmanship. Has he forgotten about Broad not walking in a previous series when he clearly edged it. Double standards here talking about sportsmanship.

Australia famously took that very well...

I said it from day one, they were too friendly. When you're on the pitch it's no time to be laughing along with the Aussies. I don't want to see Stuart Broad hugging David Warner.

This has really shown England they can't be like that. They're a better team when Stuart Broad is like that.

Australia were in the box seat at start of play. It was going to take something very, very special from Engand.

We had that early partnership then we saw what happened with Bairstow. What that did do was inspired Ben Stokes and Stuart Broad and what followed was incredible.

Every day of this Test something incredible has happened and I don't think we have seen a Lord's Test like this one.

It will be interesting to see whether this has an impact on the relationship between the teams. They have been very pally, with hugs and jokes, which I'm not a huge fan of off the field.

We will see what happens from here.

That Stokes' inning was fuelled by that controversy. He just switched gear after that into overdrive.

The courage that the tailenders showed. James Anderson took an absolute peppering.

Can they win at least? Of course they can. They need to get to Leeds and I think they can beat this Australia side at Leeds. They just need to forget about the three games they need to win and just focus on winning at Leeds.

England have to be realistic about the way they have played that cricket.

Does it matter what the relations with the two teams are? But I wonder if there will be any lingering ill feelings after that?

Reginald: While it's not a wicket I'd ever like to see taken, it's not the reason we lost this match. The fact it was even close is because of a piece of individual brilliance. We were so reckless in the first innings and that's what actually cost us.

Nathan Cavin: I think I need a break from cricket after that test. Absolutely exhausted and gutted from watching that. Wait, the next test starts Thursday?!

Ben Ellis: That mad hour on Friday afternoon... We could be 2-0 up. We should be at worst 1-1! Special and (above all) smart cricket required from here!

I think there will be many things people focus on. Ben Stokes' remarkable innings. A player that seems to take on the impossible more than anyone I have ever seen. They will be focussing on England's batting in the first innings. Bairstow's wicket will be focussed on.

To be bowled out in 76 overs and with Nathan Lyon off the field, that'll be spoken about.

There's elements of the professional game that should be focussed on, the batting in the first innings really cost themselves.

Gutted. Bravely played by Tongue and Anderson, though. The fact England gave away an additional 35 extras across the two innings feels crucial...

I've never heard Lord's like this. The constant booing of a side. It is very strange and in one sense it has marred today.

We have seen something very special from Ben Stokes to try and drag England over the line. But there is a bitter taste in the mouth because of that incident. But if you take that out of it Australia have pretty much dominated this Test match.

Josh Tongue showed some admirable late defiance, but in truth he had been given far too much to do.

There is a lot to talk about but the bottom line is that Australia are 2-0 up in the series with three more games to go.

There's been some argy bargy in the Long Room too and there's been an apology made to Cricket Australia.

A dramatic day! They may not get the reception they were expecting. It could be a little bit ugly when they head off. It's a fairly quiet celebration, perhaps they're just relieved.

A huge task for England to regain the Ashes!

There will be plenty of fall out from this match.

That was fun while it lasted.

Josh Tongue steps away but Mitchel Starc bowls full and straight, and the ball smashes into the stumps.
