We are good to go again.
James Anderson has a smile on his face and is able to continue. But there is a break in play while we wait for a new helmet.

Stokes' knock was inspirational but so many of the rest of the team have been found wanting on both temperament and talent. Robinson is not a Test player.

This is your daily reminder that Ollie Robinson averages 21.71 in Test cricket.

The ball was pitched in and it lifted up. This must be the eighth or ninth time we have had a concussion test.
It must've hurt even if it hit the grill.

The Bairstow wicket was perfectly fine. The keeper didn't hold onto the ball long. It's Test match cricket at the highest level why are you walking forward until you should? Classic England shouting foul when it was within the laws of the game. Stokes has been too class but the rest have been poor. 2-0 Australia. Can smell a whitewash.

James Anderson goes after a short one by Mitchell Starc and the ball smashes right into his helmet. That looked a nasty one.
The physio comes out for a concussion check.

Any chance of rain please?

Need 62 runs to win
Josh Tongue tires to clip the ball off his hips and is able to run a leg bye as the ball flies down to fine leg.

Janet Hopper: The Headingly and Old Trafford crowds won't forget what Carey did.
I think that is pretty much guaranteed, Janet.

England are hanging in there.
James Anderson then does well to fend off a wicked delivery by Josh Hazlewood that spat up it the England man.
That's a good shot from Josh Tongue as he backs away and pushes a half-volley into the off side for a single.

Maybe now the England team will realise that the Aussies aren't their friends, they're ruthless and will do whatever it takes to win (ask Bairstow).

Stuart Broad played brilliantly but had to start taking risks after Ben Stokes had departed.
James Anderson sees off the over.
England need 64 to win. That did not feel like too many when Ben Stokes was still at the crease. It certainly does now.

Some defiance from Josh Tongue!
That's a good shot! Josh Tongue has played a nice push off the back foot that Pat Cummins has to chase off his own bowling and England run three.
James Anderson fends off a short ball around the corner for a single to double his score.

The crowd has certainly have had more than their money's worth. The emotion was flowing.
Test cricket is alive and well.
