Leicestershire started tonight’s round of fixtures bottom of the North Group but they’ve got their second win of the competition, thanks to Rishi Patel’s superb 45-ball century.

Durham made 172-4 and then took a wicket in the first over of Leicestershire’s reply, but a second-wicket partnership of 149 between Patel and Lewis Hill (54 not out) led the Foxes to a six-wicket win with 14 balls to spare.

  2. wicket

    WICKET - Heldreich b Hasan 3published at 21:07 British Summer Time 9 June 2023

    Bears 137 v Northants 95-9

The Bears are almost there as Hasan Ali bowls Freddie Heldreich with the final ball of the penultimate over.

Northants need 43 from six balls - barring a flurry of no-balls and wides by Craig Miles, that is impossible.

  3. Postpublished at 21:06 British Summer Time 9 June 2023

    Yorks 224-4 v Worcs 148-4

That is a huge hit by Kashif Ali, who pounds leg-spinner Jafer Chohan straight down the ground for six.

The next is stroked through the covers for four and Kashif is 16 not out, with Ben Cox on 20.

Worcestershire need 77 from 30 balls. A very tall order.

  4. wicket

    WICKET - Mullaney b Zaman 12published at 21:06 British Summer Time 9 June 2023

    Derbyshire 142-6 v Notts 124-6

Another twist! Zaman Khan bowls Steven Mullaney!

    19 needed from 17 balls.

Shaheen Shah Afridi joins Tom Moores at the crease.

  5. Gloucestershire collapsing in Bristolpublished at 21:05 British Summer Time 9 June 2023

    Glos 137-9 v Somerset 231-4

    I can't keep up!

This is a collapse of epic proportions now.

About ten minutes ago Shoaib Bashir had never taken a wicket for Somerset - he now has three as he removes Zafar Gohar.

    Incredible.

Somerset are steamrollering their way to the win.

  6. wicket

    WICKET - Bell-Drummond c Vince b Ellis 89published at 21:05 British Summer Time 9 June 2023

    Kent 160-3 v Hampshire 177-7

No hundred for Daniel Bell-Drummond, but his 89 should be enough for a Kent victory barring something stupid from the hosts late on at Canterbury.

  7. wicket

    WICKET - Root c and b Walter 0published at 21:02 British Summer Time 9 June 2023

    Glamorgan 158-5 v Essex 226-9

Another caught and bowled for Paul Walter and he is on a hat-trick.

A long walk for nothing for Billy Root. Zain-ul-Hassan will be on strike.

  8. Postpublished at 21:02 British Summer Time 9 June 2023

    Glamorgan 158-4 v Essex 226-9

Glamorgan aren't giving this up yet.

Chris Cooke drives Simon Harmer over extra cover for six and sweeps the next delivery away for four.

But there are only five more overs to come and Cooke gives a return catch to Paul Walter from the second ball of the next and is on his way for 20.

Out of nowhere, Durham's Wayne Parnell takes two in two and is on a hat-trick...

But not to be for the left-arm seamer, as a short ball is pulled away by his fellow South African Wiaan Mulder to fine leg for a single.

Is that Northants' last hope gone?

Saif Zaib tries to sweep Moeen Ali but is bowled behind his legs by the Bears spinner, who ends his four overs with 3-16.

AJ Tye drills through mid-off for four off Hasan Ali at the start of the next, but it may be too little, too late now for the Steelbacks.

  11. Postpublished at 20:57 British Summer Time 9 June 2023

    Kent 150-2 v Hampshire 177-7

Daniel Bell-Drummond moves onto 82 not out with a slog sweep for six off Liam Dawson, and he's within sight of a second T20 hundred.

Mason Crane gets Joe Denly stumped for 41, but Kent remain on course of victory - 28 needed off 29 balls.

  12. wicket

WICKET: Bracey c Abell b Bashir 2published at 20:57 British Summer Time 9 June 2023

    Glos 137-8 v Somerset 231-4

It goes from bad to worse for Gloucestershire.

    They are being skittled.

James Bracey can't hang in there for his side as Tom Abell takes the catch to give Shoaib Bashir his first Somerset wicket.

In the next over Danny Lamb is caught at long off by Sean Dickson as Roelof van der Merwe takes his third wicket.

And in the next over - the 16th - Matthew Taylor falls to Bashir.

The hosts are running out of batters.

  13. wicket

    WICKET - Ingram c Critchley b Snater 48published at 20:56 British Summer Time 9 June 2023

    Glamorgan 141-3 v Essex 226-9

"Shall I take it?" "No, you take it." "Are you sure?"

Two Essex fielders converge on the ball as Colin Ingram gets too far underneath a pull shot but in the end it is Matt Critchley who takes the catch safely to end the South African's 21-ball cameo.

An important wicket for Shane Snater and it brings Callum Taylor to the crease.

  14. wicket

    WICKET - Patel c Zaman b Scrimshaw 28published at 20:55 British Summer Time 9 June 2023

    Derbyshire 142-6 v Notts 103-5

Samit Patel is caught in the deep and Notts are back in a pickle, needing 40 from 33 balls with only five wickets in hand.

George Scrimshaw has 3-16 off 3.3 overs.

    Steven Mullaney is next in.

  15. 6 runs

Postpublished at 20:55 British Summer Time 9 June 2023

    Glamorgan 138-2 v Essex 226-9

You don't often see Sam Cook coming in for heavy punishment, but he won't have enjoyed that over.

Colin Ingram pulls fine for four, then drives over cover for another.

Cook responds by digging one in and Ingram repeats his earlier pull shot, this time for a maximum.

He is 47 not out from just 19 balls.

    Glos 124-5 v Somerset 231-4

Oh dear, it's all started to go wrong for Gloucestershire.

It's Roelof van der Merwe who does the damage on this occasion as he takes out danger man Miles Hammond and Jack Taylor in the space of three balls.

Hammond hit 61 from 34 and it's clearly a big blow to lose him.

It wasn't long ago that the hosts lost two wickets in two balls - they are losing wickets in quick succession at present and need a partnership.

  17. Postpublished at 20:54 British Summer Time 9 June 2023

    Kent 140-1 v Hampshire 177-7

Kent's second-wicket stand between Daniel Bell-Drummond and Joe Denly is up to 81 and the hosts need 38 to win from the final six overs.

  18. wicket

    WICKET - Sales b Briggs 2published at 20:51 British Summer Time 9 June 2023

    Bears 137 v Northants 75-7

It's quite hard to believe what we are seeing at Edgbaston.

James Sales goes right back onto his stumps and tries to play into the leg-side, but the ball is onto him before he can complete the shot and he is bowled.

It's looking like the Bears are favourites now.

  19. Postpublished at 20:51 British Summer Time 9 June 2023

    Sussex 28-1 v Surrey 258-6

An early breakthrough for Surrey as James Coles falls cheaply to Will Jacks.

A brace of Toms, Alsop and Clark are now at the crease.

  20. wicket

WICKET - Patel run out 104published at 20:50 British Summer Time 9 June 2023

    Leics 151-2 v Durham 172-4

Rishi Patel's innings ends on 104, as he's run out going for a second run.

He's won the game for his team, though, with a magnificent knock - even though he won't be there to see them over the line.
