    Bears 54-0 v Worcs

Birmingham Bears pass 50 off the final ball of the fifth over at Edgbaston as Rob Yates deposits an overpitched delivery from Josh Tongue beyond the rope at long-on.

He was slightly fortunate earlier in the over as an edge just wide of the keeper brought him four. Rob would probably say it was deliberate.

    Glamorgan v Sussex 41-3 (5 overs)

    Leics v Northants 39-0 (5 overs)

A few at Leicestershire will have woken up with a sore head this morning - and not for the right reasons.

Head coach Paul Nixon was sacked yesterday with his side in the middle of an awful Blast campaign - just two wins from 11.

So what a chance for Northants at Grace Road tonight, who need to win their remaining two matches to have a chance to qualify for the quarter finals.

Emilio Gay and Ricardo Vasconcelos have shared five boundaries in the opening five overs and it's a solid start.

    Kent 55-0 (5 overs) v Middlesex

Two sixes in three balls from Daniel Bell-Drummond helps bring up the half-century stand between him and Tawanda Muyeye.

18 off Martin Andersson's over - shades of 24 hours ago at The Kia Oval.

The sell-out crowd at Canterbury are enjoying this start.

    Bears 44-0 v Worcs

Pat Brown is into the attack for Worcestershire and that's not the start he would have wanted as Rob Yates pulls for four and strikes the next even better as he collects the game's first maximum. Yates has 24 off 13 balls at the end of the fourth over.

  9. Two wickets for Timmpublished at 18:46 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Glamorgan v Sussex 35-2

Two wickets in the over for Timm van der Gugten, who has Oli Carter caught trying to flick one over short fine leg.

Nothing wrong with playing straight Oli!

Sussex T20 captain Ravi Bopara is at the crease earlier than he would have liked.

    Somerset v Glos 9-3

Gloucestershire are drinking in the last chance saloon tonight at Taunton.

They must win to stand any chance of reaching the top four but have slipped to 9-3 after losing the toss!

The two young Bens - Charlesworth and Wells - have been the bright spots for them in a difficult campaign but both have fallen for a duck tonight.

Somerset, top of the south group, rampant.

Two wickets for Matt Henry and now one for Craig Overton.

    Durham v Yorks 13-1

There have been a couple of boundaries - one of them a streaky edge to third man by Dawid Malan - but Durham will be satisfied with this start. Yorkshire's run rate is just 3.25 after four overs.

WICKET Ward c Smale b van der Gugten 7published at 18:42 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Glamorgan v Sussex 22-1 (2.1 overs)

First wicket of the night at Sophia Gardens where Sussex opener Harrison Ward has tamely lobbed one to mid on.

The Sharks chose to bat in what is a must-win for both teams with Sussex in eighth and Glamorgan sixth.

The odds are against both sides in terms of quarter-final qualification, but it should be a good contest.

    Crunch!

England paceman Josh Tongue overpitches and Alex Davies slams it majestically through the covers for the game's first boundary.

Tongue's line deserts him and he sends down three successive wides - Worcestershire can't afford too many freebies.

  14. Middlesex happy to chase againpublished at 18:37 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Kent 14-0 (2 overs) v Middlesex

After chasing Surrey's 252-7 to get their first win of the season and set a new T20 Blast record, it is no surprise that Middlesex captain Stephen Eskinazi has decided to field first again.

But Kent have won their last five T20 Blast games to move right into contention for a top-four spot in the South Group.

Daniel Bell-Drummond and Tawanda Muyeye are trying to set up the innings, but it's nothing like the assault Will Jacks and Laurie Evans launched on the Middlesex attack 24 hours ago.

    Durham v Yorks 1-1

Great start by Durham at the Riverside.

George Drissell's opening over only cost him a single and now Adam Lyth has hit Ben Raine straight to mid-on.

Skipper Shan Masood is in at three for Yorkshire.

    Bears 0-0 v Worcs

Worcestershire have won the toss at Edgbaston and put the Bears in.

The home side have paceman Hasan Ali back, but he'll be a spectator for the first half of this game unless there is a clatter of wickets.

    Durham v Yorks 0-0

Both these teams have been in the doldrums of late.

Durham haven't won in their last five T20 games - a tie against Derbyshire was the best they could manage - while Yorkshire have lost their last three.

The Vikings bring in Will Fraine for James Wharton and Durham have recalled George Drissell. The home side won the toss and bowl.

T20 games between Birmingham Bears and Worcestershire Rapids are always eagerly anticipated. Here's what the two camps had to say about this evening's head to head.

Rapids skipper Brett D'Oliveira told BBC WM: “The boys are expecting to cop some stick as we always do at Edgbaston. But we're looking forward to that and just looking to get another victory there.

“We're still just taking things game by game, looking to go with a similar mindset, be aggressive and get the win.”

Bears coach Mark Robinson told BBC CWR: “It's a tough one having had back-to-back games away from home, with all the travelling and everything. But tonight we now get the adrenalin of having 18-20,000 in the house.

“We know the atmosphere will be electric. That just lifts everybody.”
