    Durham v Yorkshire 49-1

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

This is not good. Been a few years since this happened in a T20 here - 2016 was the last no-result in Chester le Street.

Cut off for the game to resume is 9.27pm. Five overs. Target would be 44.

WICKET Salt c Chappell b McKiernan 16published at 20:15 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Lancashire 43-1 (4.5 overs) v Derbyshire

A breakthrough for Derbyshire thanks to the leg spin of Mattie McKiernan, who has Phil Salt caught at backward point.

They needed that as the Lancashire openers were starting to look dangerous.

  3. Good grouping by Bearspublished at 20:14 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Bears 228-4, Worcs 16-0

    Ged Scott
    BBC Sport at Edgbaston

This really is going to take quite a bit of getting for Worcestershire, now the benchmark has been set in Birmingham for Bears-Pears battles.

The Bears total of 228-4 matches the 228-8 they got in this fixture last season. Good grouping that.

It equals their third highest T20 score here at Edgbaston. And the Bears have only three scores higher than that anywhere in 21 seasons of T20.

    Hants v Essex 172-5 (16 overs)

Two in two balls for John Turner!

Essex still go very well though and are firmly on course for 200.

    But some work to do.

  6. Postpublished at 20:11 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Bears 228-4 v Worcs 13-0

Decent start by Worcestershire as Jack Haynes pulls Chris Woakes for six in the opening over of their chase.

Hasan Ali will bowl from the other end and Brett D'Oliveira is down the track to carve through extra cover for four.

  7. Middlesex going nowherepublished at 20:11 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Kent 228-3 v Middlesex 6-0 (3 overs)

    Three, two, one.

The scores from the opening three overs of this Middlesex innings.

They now need 226 from 17 overs at 13.29 runs per over.

  8. wicket

WICKET Banton c Bracey b Shaw 0published at 20:10 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Somerset 0-1 v Glos 186-6

Perfect start for The Shire with Josh Shaw striking second ball of the chase.

Somerset favourites you have to say to get these.

  9. Postpublished at 20:08 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Lancashire 35-0 (4 overs) v Derbyshire

Zaman Khan has been one of the star bowlers in this season's T20 Blast.

How will he fare against Jos Buttler? Well Buttler goes four, four before Zaman surprises him with a quick bouncer.

But when the Pakistan quick drops short, Buttler crashes it to the boundary.

The final ball is a low, fast full-toss which Buttler cannot get away.

Three dots and three fours from an interesting contest.

  10. Postpublished at 20:08 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Bears 228-4 v Worcs 0-0

Brett D'Oliveira and Jack Haynes will open for Worcestershire, who need close to the 226-5 they made against Notts Outlaws - their best of the competition in 2023 - to win this game. Chris Woakes has the ball in hand.

  11. Postpublished at 20:04 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Kent 228-3 v Middlesex 3-0

Stephen Eskinazi crashed four boundaries in the opening over of the Middlesex chase last night.

But Aussie quick Wes Agar concedes only two runs off the bat from this one.

A few good overs from Kent and this total will become a very imposing one.

  12. Still raining in Durhampublished at 20:03 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Durham v Yorkshire 49-1

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

Still raining here an hour after the players left the field.

Cut-off time to make a game of it is 21:27 BST with a minimum five overs to be batted by Durham, if they can’t get back on before then.

WICKET Carlson c sub b Currie 0published at 20:02 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Glamorgan 0-1 (0.1 overs) v Sussex 182-6

    Perfect start for Sussex!

Brad Currie strikes with the first ball of his left-armers as Kiran Carlson throws his hands at one outside-off, but with no foot movement, slaps it straight to point.

  14. wicket

WICKET Khushi b Turner 61published at 20:01 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Hants v Essex 159-3 (13.5 overs)

    Huge wicket for Hampshire.

Feroze Khushi's 37-ball blast is over and Essex suddenly have two bats fresh to the crease.

Can the champions get back in the game?

  15. Postpublished at 19:59 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Bears 228-4 v Worcs

    Dave Bradley
Cricket commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

Whatever happens at the end of this game, I think the Worcestershire coaching staff will be questioning the fielding this evening from their side because it has not been great.

  16. Postpublished at 19:59 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Lancashire 16-0 (2 overs) v Derbyshire

England white-ball captain Jos Buttler and Phil Salt are the Lancashire openers.

Three boundaries in the first two overs, although Zak Chappell twice beat Buttler's bat.

  17. wicket

    Hants v Essex 154-2 (12.5 overs)

A second wicket for Hampshire after an 11-ball stay from Michael Pepper.

Feroze Khushi still bowls along, 61 from 36.

  18. Worcestershire set 229 target by Bearspublished at 19:56 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Bears 228-4 v Worcs

Jacob Bethell swings Pat Brown away for six in the final over and that is Birmingham Bears' highest total of this season's T20 Blast.

They have won their last four matches and Worcestershire their last three - but someone is going to leave here empty-handed this evening.

Bethell finishes nine not out with Chris Benjamin (below) on 29 from 15 balls.

  19. GLOUCESTERSHIRE POST 186-8published at 19:56 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Somerset v Glos 186-8

Well from 44-4 that is a fine effort from the Glosters.

Jack Taylor, who quit as captain halfway through the tournament, makes 41 from 33 balls.

Probably still light though at Taunton.

  20. NORTHANTS POST 210-7published at 19:55 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Leics v Northants 210-7

Saif Zaib falls for 55 from 25 in the final over as Leicestershire take four wickets in seven balls in the closing stages.

But Northants have put up a big score in a game they must win to keep their qualification hopes alive.

Chris Lynn with 62 from 35 balls.
