Birmingham Bears remain top of North Group with 18 points, four clear of Lancashire Lightning, who jump two places to second because of their superior net run rate over Worcestershire Rapids and Notts Outlaws.

    Breaking

Lancashire (177-4) beat Derbyshire (150-7) by 27 runs

Lancashire ease home with the ball, but the work was done by Jos Buttler.

His fireworks with the bat illuminated this match. His 83 off 38 balls set up a target that Derbyshire never looked like getting.

The sixes count tells the story - Lancashire 12 Derbyshire 2.

A big win for the Red Rose as they move up to second on net run rate ahead of Worcestershire and Notts.

Derbyshire drop to seventh and their hopes of a top-four spot are hanging by a thread.

  6. wicket

WICKET Thomson b Mitchell 11published at 22:10 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Lancashire 177-4 v Derbyshire 140-7

    Bowled him!

Daryl Mitchell begins with a slower ball, which deceives Alex Thomson all ends up.

  7. Derbyshire need 38 from 6 ballspublished at 22:09 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Lancashire 177-4 v Derbyshire 140-6 (14 overs)

Luke Wood to bowl the penultimate over.

Alex Thomson scores two off the first and is then caught of the next. But it's too high and called a no-ball!

They cross for a single and Brooke Guest smashes the free hit for the first six of the innings!

He follows it up by finding successive fours - one at third man and the next through midwicket.

Wood responds with a dot to quell the mini onslaught.

Yet Guest smashes the last ball straight down the ground for a one-bounce four.

It's 23 off the over. Derbyshire's best of the innings.

  8. Derbyshire need 61 from 12 ballspublished at 22:04 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Lancashire 177-4 v Derbyshire 117-6 (13 overs)

Lancashire continue with spin with Tom Hartley.

Rob Jones almost has a second spectacular catch in two overs but he can't quite grab Alex Thomson and the ball drops over him for four.

13 off the over, but Derbyshire need a lot more than that!

  9. wicket

WICKET McKiernan c Jones b Wells 6published at 22:00 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Lancashire 177-4 v Derbyshire 103-6

    Start the car!

Mattie McKiernan is brilliantly caught by Rob Jones who comes sliding in from the point fence to pouch it just above the ground.

Great fielding and that is surely the game for Lancashire.

Daniel Sams with an almost-impossible task.

Benny Howell takes a single and then Liam Dawson strikes the winning boundary!

    What a chase from Hampshire.

James Vince's 76 in 42 gave them hope but he couldn't do it all himself.

His namesake Fuller played a even better knock with 57 from 29.

And Howell has finished it off, making 34 from 18.

Hampshire right back in the thick of the qualification picture with two games remaining.

Essex right there too but need at least a win from their final two.

  11. wicket

WICKET Came st Buttler b Hartley 45published at 21:58 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Lancashire 177-4 v Derbyshire 96-5 (10.3 overs)

Harry Came knows he has to take risks, but this is one too far.

He charges Tom Hartley, is nowhere near the ball and is stumped by miles.

A brave knock in what is increasingly looking like mission impossible for his side.

  13. Hampshire need three in six ballspublished at 21:57 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Hampshire 207-6 (19 overs) v Essex 209-7

Ben Allison with the penultimate over.

Benny Howell finds the fence first ball and then takes a single.

James Fuller takes two to go to fifty in 27 balls.

And then lifts his third six!

But goes next ball for 57! Great hitting in 29 balls.

    Liam Dawson the new man.

AND SEND HIS FIRST BALL OUT OF THE PARK!

    Incredible stuff.

  14. Derbyshire need 84 from 30 ballspublished at 21:54 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Lancashire 177-4 v Derbyshire 94-4 (10 overs)

A boundary each from Harry Came and Brooke Guest from Luke Wells' over.

They are not giving this one up.

But Derbyshire have just not hit anywhere near the same number of sixes as Lancashire did.

  15. wicket

WICKET du Plooy c&b Wells 12published at 21:51 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Lancashire 177-4 v Derbyshire 84-4

Leus du Plooy flicks one back to Luke Wells and that is as easy as you come for a return catch.

Joe Root off Alex Carey this wasn't!

  16. Hampshire need 22 from 12 ballspublished at 21:51 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Hampshire 188-5 (18 overs) v Essex 209-7

    Can Daniel Sams settle Essex?

Single, single, wide and then James Fuller finds a boundary.

Two to finish the over and Essex will probably take that.

  17. Derbyshire need 95 from 36 ballspublished at 21:50 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Lancashire 177-4 v Derbyshire 83-3 (9 overs)

Liam Livingstone's overs are good for timekeeping!

Again he rattles through his six balls and does an excellent job for his team.

A dot, three singles and two twos is very tidy from a Lancashire perspective.

  18. Postpublished at 21:48 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Lancashire 177-4 v Derbyshire 76-3 (8 overs)

That is welcome for Derbyshire as Luke Wells sends down five wides.

Harry Came clubs the last delivery down to cow corner for four more to get 15 off the over.

They require 102 from seven overs.

  19. 'Hampshire right back in it'published at 21:47 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Emily Windsor

That's got Hampshire right back in the game. Really impressive over from Benny Howell.

  20. Hampshire need 33 in 18 ballspublished at 21:46 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Hampshire 177-5 (17 overs) v Essex 209-7

    Simon Harmer's final over.

    Benny Howell...

    4, 6, 4!

Boundary from the last ball too.

20 from the over and the big set that Hampshire needed.
