WICKET Maxwell c Brown b Santner 44published at 19:28 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

    Bears 146-3 v Worcs

It's a surprising fact but Glenn Maxwell has still to reach 50 in this season's Blast and he's fallen short again this evening.

One hand comes off the bat as he tries to clear the rope at extra cover and Pat Brown runs round to his left to take a well judged catch.

Just 20 balls faced by the Aussie, who hit three sixes and five fours. The Bears would have wanted him to go deeper towards the end of their innings.

Pennington has probably been the pick of the bowlers to be fair.

His first two overs cost just 16 - that sounds expensive but in the context of this game. it's pretty good going.

    Bears 134-1 (12 overs) v Worcs

    Ged Scott
    BBC Sport at Edgbaston

It‘s been quite a week for Australian batters at Edgbaston.

Obviously he is not quite in Pat Cummins‘ class as a Test finisher but this Glenn Maxwell looks quite useful - and sure has a few shots of his own in his locker.

After a rather quiet start to the evening, even from a packed Hollies Stand, it now sounds like the Edgbaston crowd are really startting to enjoy this.

Not many Pears appear to have made the journey though, by the sound of it.

Another expensive over from Josh Tongue costs him 15 - he has 0-38 from three so far.

Glenn Maxwell pulls for six over deep backward square and adds two fours as he moves to 30 off 12 balls.

A very dangerous man if like another Glenn - Miller - he's in the mood.
