  1. 6 runs

    Postpublished at 23 overs

    Scotland 87-4 v UAE

Mustafa is back on. He got two wickets against Oman through the week.

32 off 44 for this batting partnership so far. The best by a distance.

And then Leask smacks it down the ground as Mustafa over-pitches. The first six of the day!

  2. Postpublished at 22 overs

    Scotland 79-4 v UAE

Another change of bowler. Karthik Meiyappan, a leg spinner - who hasn't bowled very well in this tournament so far.

He bowls his first three well though, with Leask finding it awkward to hit cleanly. The first five are dot balls.

But, he sweeps the last and it bounces just short over the boundary rope. So close to a six, but he'll take the four.

  3. Postpublished at 21 overs

    Scotland 75-4 v UAE

Four singles from Mustafa's first over. They got through it quickly.

That's a deliberate ploy from the UAE. They want to hustle and harry the Scots batsmen and make them play at their pace.

  4. Postpublished at 20 overs

    Scotland 71-4 v UAE

Five off the next blink-and-you'll-miss-it over from Afzal Khan.

The question for Scotland - and Michael Leask - is: does he try anything risky to try and up the run rate?

Former captain Rohan Mustafa is on to bowl the next over - another spinner. He'll get through his overs quickly.

  5. Postpublished at 19 overs

    Scotland 66-4 v UAE

Zahoor Khan is back on and is dispatched by Berrington with the first ball. A full-ish ball just outside off and the skipper relies solely on his timing to get it through.

The two Scotland batters are into a nice rhythm, countering the UAE momentum. If they can bat for the next five or ten overs and really dig in, they can pull this back.

The final ball is then flogged for four, this time by Michael Leask. Not a bad over, with two boundaries.

  6. Postpublished at 18 overs

    Scotland 57-4 v UAE

Two each for Berrington and Leask from that over, bowled by Afzal Khan. Under two minutes for those six balls.

The sun is now firmly out in Bulawayo after a cloudy, cold morning.

  7. Massive appeal!published at 16.3 overs

    Scotland 52-4 v UAE

Richie Berrington pokes another for a single. That's him up to 17 from 41 balls. It's exactly what Scotland need right now - composure. Okay, he'll need to up that run rate but stability is far more essential at this early stage.

Michael Leask is on strike... and there's a huge shout! It hits the outer thigh, and Zahoor screams for LBW.

He's off running to his keeper! But Aleem Dar is unmoved. Leask survives.

  8. Postpublished at 16.0 overs

    Scotland 51-4 v UAE

Leask survives his first with a firm defence.

Young spinner Afzal Khan is back. Berrington sends the first for a single through the off side.

Leask is back on strike, and sends the fourth ball over the over past cover for a simple single - which brings up the 50 for Scotland.

Berrington gets another single to finish the over. Just three off it.

  9. Here he comes...published at 14.6 overs

    Scotland 48-4 v UAE

He pulled out the heroics on Wednesday, and he'll need to do it again today. Michael Leask is in to bat.

    Time for drinks.

  10. wicket

WICKET Mackintosh c&b Khan 11published at 14.5 overs

    Scotland 48-4 v UAE

Oh dear. That shot wasn't on and Tomas Mackintosh knows it.

He was starting to score having played himself in nicely with the captain, but it's all come crashing down around him as he plays his shot early and chips it straight back into the basket of Zahoor Khan.

    A cheap dismissal.

  11. Postpublished at 14.4 overs

    Scotland 48-3 v UAE

Zahoor Khan isn't allowed to settle in his second over, as Berrington slices it to deep cover point.

Mackintosh punches one past extra cover for two, and does the same with the next.

The commentators here are making a lot of the loss of George Munsey through illness. They aren't wrong. The left-hander adds a different dimension and doesn't allow for consistency in the bowling attack.

There is a stomach bug going through the camp.

  12. Siddique celebrates his second wicket in a terrific spellpublished at 14.0 overs

And now our first spinner. It's 17-year-old Aayan Afzal Khan to come on. What can he do? First thing is to change the field slightly.

Tomas Mackintosh eases the first ball towards deep cover point for a single.

Afzal Khan follows that with four dot balls, but Berrington gets a single off the last. Just two from the over, as Scotland attempt to re-build. Again.

  14. Postpublished at 13.0 overs

    Scotland 41-3 v UAE

First change in the bowling attack as Zahoor Khan replaced Junaid Siddique. The senior statesmen for the UAE is still searching for his first wicket in this competition.

He won't find it there. Richie Berrington punches it through the covers for his first boundary. Lovely stroke. That's him up to 12.

Don't let the four fool you, though. It's a good opening over from Khan.

  15. Postpublished at 12.0 overs

    Scotland 33-3 v UAE

Hows Stat?! 48 dot balls from 66 deliveries at the start of this over. UAE skipper Muhammad Waseen will be absolutely delighted with that, and his opening two bowlers.

The projection from the current run rate is 132. Scotland need to up it, but there's a long way to go.

They gain eight from the over, though. Five from Mackintosh - including a very streaky four - and three from Berrington.

  16. Postpublished at 11.0 overs

    Scotland 29-3 v UAE

The Powerplay is over and the first ball after is... a no ball! We've not seen that from Junaid Siddique today.

Berrington is able to run the next down to third man and Mackintosh is back on strike.

And on his second ball of the over, he gets off the mark - dabbing it to backward point.

  17. McBride departs earlypublished at 10.0 overs

    Scotland 26-3

The UAE bowlers are hot right now, bowling superbly with the new ball. Have they bowled a single ball down the leg side?

At least skipper Berrington is up to four of 19 balls.

Mackintosh has faced his first ball and survived. He'll be looking to make it past 20 balls - only Cross has done that so far.

It's another superb over from Ali Naseer.

  19. wicket

WICKET Cross b Siddique 13published at 8.6 overs

And just as Scotland were playing their way back in, Siddique goes right through Matthew Cross and removes his off-stump.

Again, there's a hint of movement as the ball nips back inside and Cross plays all around it.

This is crisis territory. Here comes young Tomas Mackintosh.

  20. Postpublished at 8.3 overs

    Scotland 23-2 v UAE

It takes a while to get going in this over, but Berrington outside edges down to third man. He's on three from 16 balls, currently.
