The pace of ODIs after recent Hundred and T20 cricket feels much slower.
England made a good start after losing the toss, but two quickfire wickets have dragged New Zealand back into the game.
He did. A huge inside edge as well.
That is a pretty poor review from New Zealand.
The players were already in position well before the umpire signalled not out.
There is a huge appeal from Rachin Ravindra as the ball cannons into Joe Root's pads as he pushes forward.
The umpire says no but New Zealand send it upstairs - did Root inside edge this?
Ben Stokes very nearly goes first ball!
Lockie Ferguson again gets one to leap up off the surface to Stokes, who can only push at the ball and send it just over the leaping Glenn Phillips at backward point.

Cardiff is not usually a happy hunting ground for spinners given the short straight boundaries, but it is the offy Rachin Ravindra who has got it.
There is more than a touch of fortune about this wicket though, as Dawid Malan steps across the stumps and inside edges onto his pads, with the ball bouncing and spinning back onto the stumps.
I wonder what has got Harry Brook laughing here?

Lockie Ferguson continues for his second over and finally manages to extract some life from this pitch as he gets one to leap up at Harry Brook and fizz past the outside edge.
Kyle Jamieson then dives at full stretch at third man to deny Dawid Malan a boundary.
That completes a good over from Ferguson, who went for 12 in his first over but concedes just three here.
