Glenn Phillips scored 26 runs from his first 25 balls, but then scored just 12 runs off his next 24.
Target 369
Sam Curran continues, and opts to go round the wicket, looking to cramp Glenn Phillips for room.
It works to a degree as England go up for an lbw appeal, but after a discussion opt against the review.
It's a wise call, with the technology showing it would have just gone over leg stump.
Target 369
Kyle Jamieson is the new batter and he's off the mark with a push down the ground.
New Zealand need exactly 250 more off 25 overs. Going to be one heck of a chase if they do it.

Ravindra tried to make something out of this game, but New Zealand are going to lose heavily.
Ravindra b Moeen 28 (NZ 116-6)
Bowled him!
Rachin Ravindra backs away to leg, to try and work through the off side, but the ball skids on from Moeen Ali.
Ravindra is unable to adjust and the ball crashes into leg stump.

Ravindra has played some nice shots since coming in.
Target 369
A change of ends for Sam Curran as he replaces for Gus Atkinson.
He's pretty easy to face on this pitch at his pace and Rachin Ravindra works to the mid-wicket boundary, before finding the square-leg fence off the last ball.
Ravindra and Phillips have shared 45 in 42 balls so far.
Target 369
Five runs from Moeen Ali's first over.
It feels pretty flat at The Oval. Everybody knows where this game is going, it is just how we get there.
A change of pace for England, for the first time in the match, as off-spinner Moeen Ali comes on in place of Sam Curran.
Target 369
Gus Atkinson goes up for lbw but it is too high, and Jos Buttler, having burned a review a few overs ago, doesn't even entertain sending it upstairs.
Rachin Ravindra then plays a gorgeous straight drive to pick up four more. He's looked in decent touch.
Target 369
New Zealand work Sam Curran around for six runs.
England were 144-2 at the same stage.
It's going to be something something quite spectacular if New Zealand get the required 277 from 174 balls.
After almost five minutes finding a new helmet for Glenn Phillips we are ready to go again.
Sam Curran will continue.

Atkinson's opening spells this series have all been virtually the same, averaging around 87mph. His quickest ball at Cardiff was 93mph, today it has been 90.7mph.

This is what England like about Gus Atkinson, his pace is a point of difference.
Target 369
It's really hard to not be impressed by Gus Atkinson.
His action is rhythmical and at his pace - and accuracy - he's capable of surprising batters.
That is exactly what happens to Glenn Phillips as Atkinson rattles the Kiwi batter's helmet. He's going to need a concussion check but he seems fine.
This was a really good review from Sam Curran and Jos Buttler to remove Daryl Mitchell.

Glenn Phillips is in a pugnacious mood now. His side is up against it so he might as well have a go.
Target 369
Glenn Phillips picks up another boundary with a dismissive drive through mid-off, before Sam Curran comes back by cutting him in half with a ball that moves in a touch.
It kept a little low too and Phillips was completely beaten and raises a little smile in response.

That is a very fine shot from Ravindra to get off the mark.
