That is a hostile ball, and it went very low to slip.
Alex Wharf is correct.
It's come off the back thigh pad and Rachin Ravindra survives.
Lovely bowling from Atkinson though, and a good catch from Root.
England think Gus Atkinson has got Rachin Ravindra caught at slip by a good, low diving catch by Joe Root.
They were adamant, but umpire Alex Wharf is unmoved.
Jos Buttler sends it upstairs.

The conditions have worked for England. They are getting the ball to talk and the seamers have been relentless.

England have been thoroughly dominant. Daryl Mitchell is New Zealand's in-form player so he is the danger wicket.

Daryl Mitchell did look very sheepish, and Jos Buttler knew right away.

Buttler was emphatic about that.

Got 'im!
Excellent use of the review system from England.
Sam Curran squared Daryl Mitchell up a little and draws a feather of an edge through to Jos Buttler.
England are coasting towards a huge victory.
Target 369
Sam Curran has replaced Chris Woakes and the left-arm quick, and Jos Buttler, think England have got Daryl Mitchell.
The umpire shakes his head, but Buttler, after a very brief chat opts to send it upstairs.
Target 369
Gus Atkinson continues after the drinks break. He again goes for four as New Zealand look to rebuild.
The required run-rate is 8.97 so they can't rebuild for much longer.

It is still quite hard to call England's XI for the first game of the World Cup because all three ODIs so far have been quite one-sided, we haven't had any game go down to the wire yet.
Any team can win on any day and that's what makes this World Cup exciting.
Chris Woakes has then put an absolute masterclass, taking 3-31 from eight overs so far.
The players are taking drinks at The Oval.

There is never any doubt about Chris Woakes' place in England's starting ODI line-up and today has been a prime example of why that is.
Target 369
Chris Woakes continues for an eighth over. It's the most he's bowled on the trot in an ODI.
It's more tight stuff and he's got 3-31 from eight overs. Superb stuff.
Chris Woakes is continuing. Jos Buttler has got three slips in for him. Love it.
Here's how he picked up the wicket of Tom Latham.

Gus Atkinson has been steady in the high 80s in terms of pace so far but we know he can hit the 90s.
I'd like to see a bit more of his variations, but his pace is definitely such a big asset.
Target 369
A first change for England as Gus Atkinson replaces Reece Topley.
It is a tidy start from the Surrey quick, conceding just four.

When the dust settles on this period of English cricket, I hope Woakes gets the reverence he deserves along his more illustrious colleagues. The man has been as good as any in England over the past 10 years.
