Charlie Dean has been brilliant today.
She mixes up her pace so well, she is very canny, and that means the batter can't settle.

Dilhari c & b Dean 0 (SL 78-5)
Kavisha Dilhari can't make the most of that chance.
The right-handed pushes at another full delivery but can only chip it back to Charlie Dean.
A deserved second wicket for the England spinner.

That would have been a beauty.
It went quickly.
SL 78-4
Tough chance but it's a chance for Heather Knight at slip!
Kavisha Dilhari pushed at the ball outside off but it didn't spin, the ball took the edge and went quickly to slip.
Knight got her hands to it but couldn't hold on.
Another very tidy over from Alice Davidson-Richards and England are well on top.
There hasn't been a clatter of wickets but the runs have completely dried up.

It's the shorter length again.
The batters have been struggling to deal with it, or to score runs off anything back of a length.
It's smart bowling.

Davidson-Richards gets the reward for some aggressive bowling.
Karunaratne c Glenn b Davidson-Richards 8 (SL 76-4)
Banged in short and the top-edge carries down to fine leg!
Alice Davidson-Richards has sent down a few bouncers and this time Hansima Karunaratne takes it on.
There's no control in the shot and the ball flies off the edge and Sarah Glenn holds on a few yards in from the boundary.

The runs are really drying up.

The Sri Lankan players have developed and improved so much, particularly in playing off the front foot.
But they need to work on their play off the back foot, and also to rotate the strike a bit better. They are technically correct but finding ways to nudge it into the gaps is a big area they need to work on.
Maiden over from Charlie Dean. The off-spinner has been superb so far today.

Oh. There's a proposal going on.
He's offered a ring to a woman who has got no choice but to accept because it's live on television.
Very good over from Alice Davidson-Richards, just a single from it and she manages to beat Hasini Perera on the inside edge.
Meanwhile, we've just had a proposal in the crowd. Half commentated on by Steven Finn. She said yes.
It would be a bold move to say no in those circumstances...

That's as good a piece of fielding as you will see all day.
It's still raining quite hard which is helping the slide. But it does look like it might be getting brighter.
Brilliant fielding from Maia Bouchier out in the deep after Hasini Perera nailed a cut shot through backward point.
Bouchier comes flying around the rope and scoops the ball up one-handed on the dive. Excellent work.
The umpires are keeping the players out there for now and Charlie Dean will continue.

The rain is definitely getting heavier.
There is a mix-up between the two Sri Lanka batters but they are saved as Heather Knight gets caught in a map over one of the pitches on the square.
Meanwhile, there is a bit of bad news on the weather front...

It's a big chance for the rest of Sri Lanka's batters with plenty of time left to bat and a chance to prove themselves.
Sri Lanka have managed to keep the scoreboard ticking over since the wicket of Chamari Athapaththu.
But England will know that another wicket or two and they have a chance of ending this innings pretty quickly.
