Athapaththu is a big wicket for England and it will give Charlie Dean quite a confidence boost.

  2. SL 65-3published at 11.1 overs

Streaky but it's four for Hansima Karunaratne.

The right-hander pushes forward to Charlie Dean, gets an outside edge but the ball runs away to deep third.

  3. SL 61-3published at 11 overs

Four more for Hasini Perera and this time there is no chance for Tammy Beaumont at backward point.

It flew past her, behind square and was at the boundary sponge in a flash.

  4. SL 57-3published at 10.2 overs

Those are useful runs for Sri Lanka as Hasini Perera finds the boundary with a lovely square drive off Alice Davidson-Richards.

It might have been stopped at point but the fielder rather dived over it.

Chamari Athpaththu was dismissed for 34 at a run a ball, six fours and one six. 30 of her 34 runs came from boundaries.

  6. SL 53-3published at 10 overs

Powerplay done and while Sri Lanka will be happy with the runs on the board, that wicket of Chamari Athapaththu means it is England on top.

Sri Lanka three down having lost their star batter. Can they get up to a competitive total now?

Really good bowling from Charlie Dean, a couple of balls outside the off stump and then the straighter one gets Athapaththu.

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 9.4 overs

    Athapaththu lbw b Dean 34 (SL 53-3)

Not bat involved and that is a huge wicket! Brilliant set up for Charlie Dean.

After flighting a couple of just outside off, Dean fires this one in quicker and straighter.

The ball skids on and Chamari Athapaththu is caught on the crease. It was pad first and going on to hit middle and leg.

I think it's turned and held its line. I think it will be clipping leg stump.

If that didn't get any bat, that looked like a stone-cold lbw.

  11. Sri Lanka reviewpublished at 9.4 overs

Has Charlie Dean taken the big wicket?

Chamarai Athapaththu is caught on the crease and given out lbw.

    Reviewed straightaway.

  12. SL 53-2published at 9 overs

An expensive over as Chamari Athapaththu decided to put her foot on the accelerator.

We're going to have a change of bowling now with Charlie Dean coming on to bowl the last over of the powerplay.

When you see a shot like that from the batter, you assume that ball is going down the leg side but it wasn't that was in the middle and once again, Athapaththu has punished that length.

  14. 6 runs

    SL 52-2published at 8.5 overs

    Brilliant from Chamari Athapaththu.

Another elegant swing of the bat, this time to whip the ball over the leg side for the first six of the match.

Sorry to state the obvious but she is some player!

Athapaththu knows the longer she sticks around, the easier it will become for her team but also, the more runs they get on the board.

  16. SL 46-2published at 8.3 overs

Right in Chamari Athapaththu's arc from Kate Cross and the Sri Lanka skipper swings the ball over mid-on as if it's the easiest thing in the world.

Four more. She really is the key for Sri Lanka.

  17. SL 42-2published at 8 overs

A couple of wides in there but that's a good over from Lauren Filer.

Pace, bounce and a real wicket-taking threat. Just what England would want from her.

I'm not sure Amy Jones took that all that cleanly.

Filer deserved that wicket. She told me after taking three wickets on Saturday she didn't feel that good. She had both batters probing outside off stump and she deserves that, Lauren Filer.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 7.3 overs

    Samarawickrama c Jones b Filer 6 (SL 41-2)

    Lauren Filer strikes!

Superb from the England seamer to set up Harshitha Samarawickrama.

It was the bouncer the ball previous and this one was much fuller and angled across the left-hander.

Samarawickrama had a drive at it, got an edge and Amy Jones took the catch.
