Lovely shot from Tom Latham.
He gets down quickly and nails the reverse sweep behind square for four.
Even Roelof van der Merwe isn't getting too worked up about that, it's just a good shot.

I've got a radical idea.
When Kane Williamson returns, do you need an anchor, in Tom Latham, coming in at five?
He's generally not a quick starter so if you're going to use him don't you want him higher up the order? If Williamson comes in, how does he get higher up the order?
They've got Devon Conway as the spare keeper option.

When Kane Williamson returns, I would drop Will Young and promote Rachin Ravindra to open.
I would also be getting Jimmy Neesham into the side instead of Mark Chapman.
Tom Latham is out there with Daryl Mitchell and the skipper is just taking a bit of time to get settled.
He plays out three dot balls to end the Bas de Leede over. Just five from it.

That is a very Daryl Mitchell shot. Bas de Leede just dragged the ball down and that inadvisable at his pace. It is a nothing ball.
Too short from Bas de Leede and Daryl Mitchell goes back before hammering it over mid-wicket for four.
Easy pickings for the New Zealand right-hander.
A successful over for Roelof van der Merwe, he's got figures of 2-36 after seven overs.
The spinner is pumped. In truth, I can't remember seeing him play when that wasn't the case but a World Cup does take it up a notch.

Rachin Ravindra can't believe what he has done. He's just gazing up at the sky.

Scott Edwards is an extraordinary wicketkeeper.
Roelof van der Merwe was throwing his toys out of the cot after the previous ball because Vikram Singh let Rachin Ravindra get back for two and he didn't want to bowl at him.
Funny game!
Ravindra c Edwards b van der Merwe 51 (NZ 185-3)
It's 50 and out for Rachin Ravindra!
The left-hander reached his half-century from 50 balls with two from the first ball after drinks but he is gone next ball.
Ravindra just tries to flick the ball off his pads but tickles it behind down the leg-side. Good take from Scott Edwards.
You don't really want to drop someone capable of doing this kind of thing pretty regularly...

India can make some belting pitches that assist both batters and bowlers. We get carried away with the pitches that they make in bilateral series - they have every right to produce turning pitches.
They are now just producing cricket pitches. I've never seen a pitch at Delhi like the one in the South Africa-Sri Lanka game on Saturday.
This time of year, coupled with India not playing and the ICC controlling pitches, shows it can be a bit more of a fair contest between bat and ball and pace and spin.
Drinks come at the worst possible time for Sybrand Engelbreidt. He'll have wanted to avoid his team-mates for a little while after that drop.
It's frustrating for the Netherlands because they have bowled pretty well without much reward.
As a result, New Zealand took well placed to push on towards a commanding total.

That is a sitter. It was like he closed his hands before the ball actually got in them.

In truth, that was a pretty easy chance. It went firmly but it was a nice catching height.
NZ 183-2
Big chance missed at short mid-wicket!
Daryl Mitchell tries to flick a full delivery leg-side but it is straight to Sybrand Engelbreidt.
It's a dolly but the debutant drops it. How costly will that prove to be?!
NZ 178-2
Closer than I thought in the end! It hit pad first, then bat.
It's all down to the impact and it's umpire's call. The ball was thudding into leg stump but it's stays with the on-field decision.

Former Australia bowler on BBC Test Match Special
This is just taking a punt because he hasn't used one yet. He's smashed it, hasn't he?
Daniel Norcross

I'm not quite sure why Scott Edwards has reviewed this. His bowler wasn't remotely interested.
NZ 178-2
Scott Edwards has a long think before calling for a review after Ryan Klein hits Rachin Ravindra on the toe with a yorker.
Was there bat involved? Did it hit him outside leg?
