Another change for New Zealand as Rachin Ravindra comes on for Mitchell Santner.

There's a half appeal from Tom Latham for a catch as Bas de Leede drives into the covers.

It's a pretty clear bump ball but it has the umpires twitchy for a second or two.

  2. Ned 58-2published at 14 overs

Just a single from Lockie Ferguson's second over.

The seamer has come back into the side for Jimmy Neesham for this game.

  3. Ned 57-2published at 13 overs

    Target 323

Bas de Leede is enjoying some luck at the moment. Certainly in terms of adding runs anyway.

He tries to cut Mitchell Santner away, but the ball is too tight to him for the shot really.

It results in an under-edge bouncing past the ear of Daryl Mitchell at slip and away to the rope.

De Leede is on 13 off 12 balls.

It was quick-ish, but it was a beautiful half-volley. He's hit that back past the speedster and there's not many better feelings than that in cricket.

  5. Ned 52-2published at 12 overs

A change for New Zealand as Lockie Ferguson comes into the attack for Matt Henry.

He is greeted by a glorious flow of the bat from Bas de Leede as the the all-rounder pushes back down the ground for his first boundary.

A second follows with a streaky outside edge racing away.

  6. Ned 44-2published at 11 overs

Oh actually, I've just seen the technology on that lbw. It was only clipping leg stump. It would have stayed out on umpire's call, though.

Bas de Leede is the new batter and he's off the mark straight away with a single.

It made pace that ball. O'Dowd tried his best to get some impetus but it is not easy.

    Mitchell Santner continues to deliver.

After being swept to the boundary from the opening ball of over Santner adjusts his line and length.

It forces O'Dowd onto the back foot and the ball skids on and wraps him on the pad.

The replay shows it probably isn't as dead as first thought, but it would have hit leg stump.

It's a sedate start, not without endeavour though. Singh tried to play some straight drives but wasn't able to. Mitchell Santner has been turned to already for the second time in this tournament inside the first 10 overs.

Is that another run out opportunity? Already, that is three. O'Dowd had to turn very quickly and if that was a direct hit, that would have been out.

  12. Ned 35-1published at 10 overs

You can see Colin Ackermann is much more comfortable against the pace of Matt Henry as he leans on a straight drive to pick up his first boundary.

He's then almost run out at the non-striker's end as he attempts a quick single, before Max O'Dowd is nearly sent on his way as Henry gathers and throws at the stumps in his follow through.

New Zealand's throwing hasn't been the most accurate so far.

  13. Ned 29-1published at 9 overs

New Zealand have done their homework on Colin Ackermann as spin comes into the attack in the shape of Mitchell Santner.

The right-hander gets down and sweeps but he's too early on the shot. It ends up splicing off the bottom of the bat and away over slip for three.

A bit of fortune for the Netherlands.

  14. Ned 26-1published at 8 overs

    Target 323

This has been a very good start from Matt Henry.

He goes up for lbw against Max O'Dowd but gets a no from the umpire. Shaping down past leg stump I reckon.

Colin Ackermann then spoons a drive into the covers but it just out of the reach for the diving Mitchell Santner.

    Henry is creating opportunities.

  15. How's stat?!published at 14:19 British Summer Time 9 October 2023

Spin could be the best bet to bowl at Colin Ackermann. Prior to the start of the World Cup, he averaged 93 in ODI cricket against pace and just 23.6 against spin.

  16. Ned 25-1published at 7 overs

    Target 323

Colin Ackermann is the new batter and he gets off the mark with three through the leg side.

The right-hander is one of the more experienced batters in the Netherlands side so you'd expect he'd have to be a key part of any successful chase.

That's an absolute seed from Matt Henry. It just clips the top of the middle stump. Henry I think wanted to see that one again on the big screen.

    Breakthrough.

Matt Henry goes round the wicket to the left-handed Vikram Singh, and the Dutch opener plays the wrong line and sees his middle stump rocked back.

Nice change of plan by Henry, but pretty average batting from Singh.

You do notice when it is an IPL player does something, the crowd really gets behind them. We just saw that as Lockie Ferguson makes a great dive, having played for Kolkata Knight Riders.
