Adam Zampa could have done better with that having got round. It's a drop. He had to go for it.

Chance!
Temba Bavuma sends the ball high into the air, spiralling down to deep third.
Adam Zampa is the fielder down there but gets it all wrong and doesn't even get a hand on it.
Well, not until it's already bounced then he inadvertently pushes it back to prevent the boundary as he falls over the sponge himself.
Messy cricket all round and somehow South Africa only get a single from it.
Very good over from Glenn Maxwell. Just a single from it to slow South Africa down after a few more productive overs for the Proteas.
One over left of the powerplay.

It's been a good start from South Africa. A better start than they had against Sri Lanka when it was 48-1 off for the first 10. They waited until they really pressed go. Once again they want to build the base for Heinrich Klaasen to come in and do his thing.

It was a slightly dicey shot from Temba Bavuma with the fielders up but he managed to clear them.
Pat Cummins is into the attack and after just a couple of runs from his first four balls, Temba Bavuma heaves the fifth over mid-wicket for four.
Quick single taken form the last, Bavuma has to dive but makes his ground and the throw misses the stumps anyway.

It looks like Quinton de Kock has turned on the pitch, on a length, and scratched it like Wolverine. The umpires have just taken a quick look.
After starting with a leg-side wide as the ball turn past Temba Bavuma, Glenn Maxwell finds his line and it's a steady over.
South Africa are happy to deal in singles for now, adding five of them to that extra first up.
Quinton de Kock was certainly starting to get the measure of the Australia seamers with this flick for six particularly impressive...
We're going to have an early bowling change, Glenn Maxwell is coming on to give us a first look at spin on this surface.

Quinton de Kock has played that as Don Bradman played his late cuts. South Africa are just getting some momentum now.
Super shot from Quinton de Kock!
He goes back, opens the face of the bat and just steers it between slip and gully for four more.
Good over for South Africa.

The bouncer length is really taking off for the Australian bowlers so far.

Quinton de Kock has slashed at that and it doesn't clear Josh Inglis by much. It's missed everything. That was a peculiar delivery in the way it took off.
Quinton de Kock has clearly decided it's time to get a move on!
He slashes the first ball of the over through point for four and, two balls later, tries to pull Josh Hazlewood to the fence.
He misses with the shot but the ball keeps rising and goes over Josh Inglis' head for four byes.

I'm still sussing what this relaid surface is doing. Australia and South Africa are doing the same. South Africa seem happy to soak up some pressure in the first five overs so far. Quinton de Kock is looking to get on with things now which might open a wicket opportunity for Australia.
Boundaries in the last couple of overs should help South Africa moving with a little more purpose.
As you'd expect, it's Quinton de Kock first to put his foot on the accelerator.

It's a little too straight but Quinton de Kock just nonchalantly flicks into into the stand.

What a shot! That's gone whistling into the stands. Wow, where did that come from?
Flicked over square leg for six!
Great pick up from Quinton de Kock as Mitchell Starc strays onto the pads.
That flies into the stands and it well taken in the crowd!
