Really great stuff from Mushfiqur. He's scored sensibly, not taken too many risks and read the bounce quite well.

    A really well-played innings.

Cut away nicely by Mushfiqur Rahim to bring up a well-earned half-century.

He's done a fine job in rescuing his team from a precarious position.

Fifty for Mushfiqur Rahim! Cutting Lockie Ferguson once more, the ball racing to the ropes through third. The landmark comes from 48 balls.

The wicketkeeper-batter came in after his partner Shakib, but is outpacing him somewhat, with the captain reaching 23 from 44 at the end of this over.

Shakib tries to swat Ferguson down the ground but is cut off at mid-on.

  4. Ban 126-2published at 27 overs

Rachin Ravindra may be the sixth bowler, but he's doing a good job for tying down an end in these middle overs.

Just two singles from this over, and Ravindra has gone for just 10 from 18 balls.

Mushfiqur Rahim has had plenty of nicknames during the ups and downs of his 17-year career but he's known as Mr Dependable in Bangladesh now.

He'll definitely prefer that to some of the others he's had.

What a shot from Mushfiqur. An outrageous shot!

Oh wow! Lockie Ferguson thought he'd returned with a maiden over, but Mushfiqur broke his stranglehold with a spectacular shot from the final ball of the over.

Dug in short, the Bangladesh batter cuts uppishly, getting his bat high and under the ball, lifting the ball over the ropes. A man in the crowd ducks for cover, but he's protected by a large fence on that side of the ground.

The person doing the score predictor is not a Bangladesh cricket fan. They've all been so low!

Mushfiqur and Shakib are two very experienced players and they're looking good here.

But things can change quickly. Bangladesh need to get up to 250-270 because New Zealand won't be intimidated by anything less.

  10. Ban 118-4published at 25 overs

Bangladesh reach the half-way stage and after the early rattle of wickets they may be happy to only be four down.

Mushfiqur takes two from Ravindra, striking into the mid-wicket area but only finding the fielder.

Bangladesh's total really hinges on how long these two last. They need to stick around for a long time if Bangladesh are going to post a competitive total.

  12. Ban 114-4published at 24 overs

Trent Boult enters his sixth over - could this be his last for a while? Fellow opening bowler Matt Henry is also on six, and some overs will need to be held in reserve for the close.

Bangladesh seem happy to see off the New Zealand seamer, milking him for four singles.

New Zealand introduce a sixth bowler into the attack as Rachin Ravindra has his first bowl of the day, replacing Mitchell Santner.

He's worked around for four runs from his opening over.

Mushfiqur has played a couple of these strokes.

He plays it so late. He's got such a high back-lift that he doesn't have to do much, he just allows the bat to stay where it's positioned and plays it almost in line with the stumps.

  16. Ban 106-4published at 22 overs

Now the fifty partnership for Mushfiqur and Shakib, the former working a four fine past the keeper off the bowling of Trent Boult. It has come from just under ten overs.

The ship? It has been steadied.

Class shot. When Shakib is at his best, he's always looking to take that attacking option.

  18. Ban 100-4published at 21 overs

    Thanks Tim.

Mitchell Santner continues, entering his fifth over. Shakib advances down the pitch and pummels him for four through an empty long-off.

The Bangladesh pair then exchange singles, Mushfiqur nudging into point to bring up his side's hundred and taking this partnership to 44.

  19. Ban 93-4published at 20 overs

Bangladesh break the shackles against Matt Henry.

Henry's third ball is cleverly guided down past short third for four by Mushfiqur Rahim before Shakib Al Hasan pulls the final delivery of the over to the fence in emphatic fashion.

Bangladesh are fighting their way back into this one. What will be a defendable total here? Mike Peter is on hand to give his view and talk you through this next passage of play.

Santner has got that leg-side field so tightly packed and Shakib just can't find a gap with the bowler holding just a tight line.

He's given nothing for Shakib to throw his hands through on the off side.
