Beautifully bit of bowling from Shakib. Pitched on middle and just turned past the off stump.

  2. NZ 150-2published at 31 overs

Back comes Shakib Al Hasan after the drinks break, having been replaced at this end by Shoriful Islam for the last two overs.

He rips the ball past Mitchell's outside edge with his opening delivery, before the New Zealand batters work him for four singles.

    Thanks Tim.

New Zealand need 100 more runs and have twenty overs to do it. That does mean they need to up their run-rate from 4.86 to five runs an over. Can they do it?

    (Yes, near definitely)

  4. drinks break

The players take a drink and I'm off to make a cuppa. I leave you in the capable hands of Mike Peter, who will see things through to the end.

Bangladesh need to find some spice, some magic. Someone out in the middle needs to make something happen because this Kiwi batting line-up are in control.

  6. NZ 146-2published at 30 overs

    Target 246

Hard to see where Bangladesh's next wicket is coming from here.

Daryl Mitchell and Kane Williamson content to work Mehidy Miraz into the gaps as they continue to chip away at the target.

Williamson will want to get the job done but it'll be good for him if he can expand a bit and go through the gears.

So far he's done this in first and second gear.

  8. NZ 143-2published at 29 overs

Kane Williamson wis brimming with confidence having reached the milestone as he clinically late cuts the penultimate ball of Shoriful Islam's over to the fence for four.

Williamson might look to go through the gears now.

Obviously the New Zealand players are congratulating Kane Williamson but there is an air of 'well we knew this was going to happen!'

Fifty for Williamsonpublished at 28.2 overs

Back from injury, back in the groove. Kane Williamson brings his half-century up with a clip into the leg side off left-arm seamer Shoriful Islam.

Williamson gets a handshake off Daryl Mitchell and briefly acknowledges the cheering crowd.

It's been a gritty knock punctuated with some moments of aggression, such as this brilliant six off Shakib Al Hasan

It's Liton Das - this would have been remarkable. He takes the catch but he's flying through the air as he does and is going over the rope.

He releases the ball before he lands over the rope. That's absolutely brilliant.

    That's a terrific effort!

  14. NZ 130-2published at 27.4 overs

Daryl Mitchell goes downtown to Mehidy Mira and it's held mid-air by Litton Das on the boundary as he dives backwards. Das is able to chuck the ball back before his foot touches the ground to save five runs.

    Superb fielding.

For a long time now in one-day cricket, this New Zealand side have just known how to get the job done. And they get the job done more often than not.

You feel like they often take the risk out of it and will take 47 overs to do it if that's what it takes rather than risk anything by going more quickly.

  16. NZ 126-2published at 27 overs

Kane Williamson happy to grind down five balls from Shoriful Islam before taking a single off the final delivery to pinch the strike.

He is 48 not out of 76 balls.

New Zealand have got a powerful batting line-up, plenty of experienced and skilful players.

Williamson hasn't been playing and you feel like he's just giving himself a middle session.

  18. NZ 125-2published at 26 overs

Tight-ish over from Mehidy Miraz with Daryl Mitchell and Kane Willimson happy to remain patient. Wickets in hand will be key to their pursuit of this total.

Shakib Al Hasan turns to quick bowler Shoriful Islam to inject a bit of life into proceedings.

This partnership are right-handed. New Zealand's next four batters are left-handers, might they want to save their off-spinners for them? But they have to take a wicket first...
