There's a temptation to take it easy and chase it make it in the 40s. But if you're confident, go for it if you've got batters to come. The last thing this World Cup needs is slow chases.

  3. NZ 116-2published at 24 overs

Taskin Ahmed bowls a nagging over of seam up. Kane Williamson picks up a couple of singles.

New Zealand's captain looks relatively unruffled despite being droppe a little while ago.

Here's Shakib Al Hasan's dismissal of Devon Conway from a few moments ago.

Lovely shot by Kane Williamson. You wouldn't have thought with that flow of the bat he could get the ball to go as far as he did. But he's an artist, Williamson.

  5. NZ 113-2published at 23 overs

Daryl Mitchell eager to impose himself against Bangladesh's spinners and is happy to employ the sweep shot.

He twice works Shakib Al Hasan round the corner to bring Kane Williamson on strike.

The New Zealand skipper uses his feet again to the penultimate ball of Shakib's over and nonchalantly whips it over the legside boundary for six.

I think Kane Williamson weakens this NZ team. Great Test player but he breaks their momentum in ODIs and lacks fluidity. New Zealand have more of a chance of winning the World Cup if he is on the sidelines.

Taskin Ahmed recalled to the attack.

He bangs his third ball to Daryl Mitchell in short and grunts with the effort, but the Kiwi batter is happy to leave that well alone.

Here's that let-off for Kane Williamson from a little while ago, when he was dropped by Taksin on 27.

  8. 6 runs

    NZ 100-2published at 21 overs

No messing around from Daryl Mitchell, who wallops his first balldown the ground for six! Shakib Al Hasan can feel a little unfortunate, though, as Mahmadullah gets two hands to it right on the rope but can only tumble over it backwards and spill the ball.

Bangladesh are going to need a lot more wickets very quickly. The Bangladeshi players were very confident when the wicket went up for a review, they were celebrating. A few more wickets and we might have a game on our hands.

Conway lbw b Shakib Al Hasan 45

    A breakthrough for Bangladesh!

Three reds and Devon Conway is on his way back to the pavilion.

It was a poor choice of shot from the left-hander who had looked relatively untroubled knocking the ball into the gaps.

It looked pretty straight. Shakib's deceptive straight ball after his first three balls went for sweeps.

  12. New Zealand reviewpublished at 20.1 overs

Devon Conway in big trouble here. He is struck on the pad by Shakib Al Hasan attemping to reverse sweep and is given out.

He's reviewed it but this looks pretty plumb.

  13. NZ 92-1published at 20 overs

New Zealand's milkathon of Bangladesh's spinners continues.

Five balls of Mehidy Miraz's over dabbed and poke into the gaps for five singles off six balls.

It's a hard chance, a really tough opportunity. But you've seen them taken before.

  15. dropped catch

Williamson dropped on 27published at 18.2 overs

Kane Williamson attempts to use his feet again but this time he is not quite able to time it against Shakib Al Hasan, and chips the ball towards mid-wicket.

However, it's spilled by the fielder, Taskin Ahmed, diving to his left. How costly will that prove?

  16. NZ 83-1published at 18 overs

As has been the pattern of matches so far in this World Cup the ground has started to fill up as the game wears on.

They are fairly subdued at the moment as this becomes a game of cat and mouse between this New Zealand pair and Bangladesh's spinners.

Kane Wlliamson eventually decides to show some intent, advancing down the pitch to Mehidy Miraz and plonking him for a four over mid-on.

Sho: Shakib can you do something please?

  18. NZ 73-1published at 16 overs

Both Devon Conway and Kane Williamson are handy players of spin and they are equally content to farm the strike against Mehidy Miraz's off-breaks.

Four singles from that over. No real need to up the ante for New Zealand just yet.

  19. NZ 68-1published at 15 overs

Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan brings himslef into the attack in a bid to break this New Zealand partnership .

Conservative stuff from Kane Williamson and Devon Conway as they milk a few singles and rotate the strike.

Three runs from the over. Steady as she goes, seems to be the approach here.

  20. drinks break

NZ 65-1 at drinkspublished at 14 overs

Plenty of encouraging chirp from Mushfiqur Rahim behind the stumps for Bangladesh, but not much to really trouble Devon Conway or Kane Williamson from Mustafizur Rahman's latest over.

The players take some fluids on board.
