Every team knows the value of that wrist-spinner in the middle overs. It can feel like nothing is happening but that, out of nowhere, a wicket comes and that can often lead to another.

Kuldeep Yadav has been superb. 10-0-2-35. Impressive.

  3. Pak 176-7published at 38 overs

Rohit Sharma thinks India can knock over these three remaining Pakistan wickets so persists with Jasprit Bumrah.

The India fans are roaring him in nearly every ball.

Bumrah concedes a couple of extras, but there's nothing off the bat. He has a half-hearted shout for lbw after Hasan is struck on the pad, but it is slipping down leg.

Hardik Pandya is waving his arms like a conductor (or Stuart Broad) to this huge crowd now. They respond.

    It's electric.

  8. Pak 174-7published at 37 overs

Between the overs the music pumps, India fans dance and cheer at the gargantuan coliseum of cricket that is the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Mohammad Nawaz and Hasan Ali attempt to compose themselves against the deafening backdrop to focus on the task in hand: simply to survive the next over from Kuldeep Yadav.

Kuldeep's fourth ball hits the glove of the left-handed Nawaz and balloons up. The crowd roars in anticipation, but Rohit Sharma at slip cannot get round to take the catch.

Left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep finishes his allocation with 2-35 off 10 overs

Make that five in quick succession!

That is the beauty of Bumrah. Pakistan suddenly in tatters.

Pakistan are absolutely reeling but that is the class of Jasprit Bumrah.

That was angled in, pitched and then straighten just enough to beat the forward prod on the angle to hit the top of off.

    Shadab b Bumrah 2 (Pak 171-7)

Pure class from the peerless Jasprit Bumrah.

The skill, control and precision from the India seamer does for Shadab Khan who is straightened up and sees his defensive prod beaten.

Just a slight bit of movement off the seam from Bumrah which sees the ball straighten and just clip the bail of the off stump.

Shadab looks back and down at his stumps in utter disbelief.

Three quick wickets and these 132,000 fans suddenly feel like 132 million!

  14. Pak 170-6published at 35 overs

Understandably, Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz play cautiously to Kuldeep Yadav as they attempt to stifle the cavalcade of wickets.

India's fans smell blood as the noise levels continue to climb.

Amazing scenes. Beautiful delivery, this is what Jasprit Bumrah brings. The passion from Bumrah, Virat Kohli - they all know what this mean.

It was clever bowling. Fast off-break pitching just outside off stump, forced Rizwan to play out in front and then deceiving him with the slower ball.

  18. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 34 overs

    Rizwan b Bumrah 49 (Pak 168-8)

A procession of wickets now for Pakistan. They are in danger of capitulating to India.

It's an off-cutter held back by Jasprit Bumrah and it does for Mohammad Rizwan, one short of his half-century.

The befuddled Pakistan batter played down the wrong line and the ball nips off the pitch to hit the top of his off stump.

Bumrah stretches his arms out in celebration before being mobbed by his team-mates.

Three wickets in 11 balls for India.

It's amazing what wickets do, they serve like a tonic for the fielding side.

It's the slower one that pitched way outside leg and it hits the glove of Iftikhar. I thought it was the googly but he's actually dragged it on.
