From my chats with others in the press box we reckon there at least two Pakistan fans here. That would leave 133,998 supporting India.

They reckon this could be the largest crowd ever at a cricket match.

The umpires head out onto the pitch and collect the ball from the mini truck that we have got so used to seeing ahead of every game now.

Sachin Tendulkar then wanders out and, unsurprisingly, gets a huge ovation from the crowd, slightly stealing the thunder of the current players...

Actually no, here come the players and the decibel level increases yet again. Time for the anthems...

Pakistan's record against India drives their fans crazy. It's not a fair reflection of the rivalry either, but it's one of those patterns you get in tournaments. If you look at the overall records, Pakistan still hold the edge with winning percentage but in World Cups India have had long lasting dominance.

There are debates about what is the biggest game in world sport but I would argue that is number one. You can make arguments about the football games but India vs Pakistan in cricket... it doesn't get any bigger. It will be the most watched sporting event with billions tuning in.
