  1. wicket

    Theekshana lbw b Zampa 0 (SL 199-8)

Yeah, that's gone, no question. Three reds on ball tracking and Theekshana departs for a duck. If you were being generous then maybe the ball kept a ever so slightly low, but there wasn't a great deal of turn there.

A third leg before wicket for Adam Zampa and his fourth overall, a vital fillip for his confidence after a tough tournament so far.

Oh, that is out. It's as out as it gets.

  3. Sri Lanka reviewpublished at 39.2 overs

Joel Wilson's finger is raised once more.

Zampa strikes Theekshana's pads and this looks very out. The Sri Lanka batter is reviewing, seemingly out of hope more than anything else.

The pitch has been a challenge. It has been two-paced, there has been some variable bounce too.

But it's certainly not a minefield.

  5. SL 198-7published at 39 overs

A lot of weight on Asalanka's shoulders now. He made a fine 79 in the opening match against South Africa, but was dismissed for just one against Pakistan.

His brings his new partner Maheesh Theekshana on a strike with a single from Hazlewood's second delivery and the Sri Lankan number nine plays out four dot balls, punctuated by a leg-side wide.

It did keep a little low but it's still too easy for Adam Zampa. Karunaratne has played all around it and the collapse continues.

Karunaratne didn't even think of a review. He's marching straight off.

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 38 overs

Karunaratne lbw Zampa 2 (SL 196-7)

    Another Sri Lankan wicket falls!

It's Zampa's third, trapping Chamika Karunaratne in front of the wicket. The Sri Lankan batter tries to turn the ball square but ends up just hitting his own foot.

Joel Wilson's finger goes up and Karunaratne heads straight to the pavilion.

The first real shot of authority from Asalanka. It's come from nowhere, because Australia had them choked.

Just a gentle chip in the air, but it's sailed for six! That was all timing.

    Impeccable.

    Oh, hello!

Charith Asalanka relieves a bit of the pressure, dumping Adam Zampa down the ground for the first six of the match.

There is definitely a bit more snap in Australia's body language and attitude in the field now. It is Labuschagne and Maxwell that are leading it with their sharp throws in to the keeper.

  13. SL 187-6published at 37 overs

Time for Josh Hazlewood at the pacer's end. The opening bowler has only bowled five overs so far in this match, all of them coming when Sri Lanka were in the ascendancy.

Just a single from the over - we haven't had a boundary in the four overs since the rain delay.

260 is still on the cards but they have got to bat very, very well to get there because of how quickly they lost these six wickets.

It is nowhere near what they would have wanted from 125-0.

It is not the first time we have seen Sri Lanka shoot themselves in the foot like this.

  15. SL 186-6published at 36 overs

New batter Chamika Karunaratne takes a single into square leg from Maxwell's first delivery, but there's just one more run from the over.

At best now Sri Lanka may look to limp towards 250 - they were 152-1 at the halfway stage.

Dunith Wellalage walks off after being run outImage source, Getty Images

It was a risky single and that came from the dot balls that were building. Wellalage wanted the single, it was his call.

He didn't hesitate, he put in a good dive, but it was brilliant work from Pat Cummins.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 34.5 overs

Wellalage run out (Cummins) 2 (SL 184-6)

    Gone!

Wellalage faces three dot balls from Starc before attempting a hit and run single to Pat Cummins at mid-off.

It's a poor decision and Wellage knows it almost immediately, he's diving from two thirds down the crease. It's a direct hit from the Australian captain and the bails are flying almost before the Sri Lanka batter slides into view.

This is going to be a tight one. It is excellent from Pat Cummins.

Tight single attempted! Is Wellalage gone from a direct hit?

We go upstairs, with Australia's players looking confident.

Dunith Wellalage is a talent, but he is also a fighter. He is quite suited for situations like this when you need to absorb some pressure.
