I love when I see Stephan is providing commentary because you can see his disdain for the Aussies through his commentary. Hopefully they score a few this morning.

I'll be honest, no one wants to spend their Wednesday morning watching Steve Smith shovelling the ball off his hip.

Scott Edwards recognised that in Aryan Dutt's second over, Warner was getting in and made the double change to pace, despite Colin Ackermann's one tidy over going for just three runs.

  4. Aus 30-1published at 5 overs

This is good from the Dutch, adapting their plans. From dual spin to dual pace, with Paul van Meekeren coming on. Just a single from the over, Smith sliding one of the face of the bat down to third man.

As soon as he hit the ball, Marsh turned around and walked off but that was not as easy as it looked. Three or four fielders called for that but Colin Ackermann used his experience and said "get out of the way." That shot from Mitchell Marsh was played out of frustration.

  6. Aus 29-1published at 4.0 overs

Looking at a replay, the Dutch could have made a hash of the catch. Three could have taken it, bowler Van Beek, Max O'Dowd at mid-on or Ackermann. Finally Ackermann took the responsibility.

Steve Smith is the new man, away with a single from his first ball.

    The new plan works!

Logan van Beek strikes, courtesy of a horrible hack by Mitchell Marsh. Straight up in the air, held by Colin Ackermann coming in from the off-side ring.

BCFC_Lee: If Australia WIN 4 of their Last 5 games (assuming the Loss is v England) and we England Win our last 5 then we will be level with Aus for that 4th place and we will go out on NRR anyway! We have no chance!

  9. Aus 27-0published at 3.2 overs

Here is a new plan, the Dutch going to pace. Logan van Beek, a man born in New Zealand. He once shared a house with a few current Kiwi internationals.

  10. Aus 27-0published at 3 overs

    New plan required, I think.

It might be worth changing the angle here for Dutt to get back bowling straight and in a rhythm. Or that, or change the field for that protection.

  12. Aus 27-0published at 2.5 overs

Right, someone might want to tell the Dutch that Warner can play well through point. He's his four straight fours in the same place. Bowl at the stumps, or put more men there.

Aryan Dutt has bowled a few wide outside off stump, but in the powerplay, you have to target the stumps.

An expert shot from David Warner. It wasn't super short, but it was short enough for him to rock back for his first boundary.

  15. Aus 19-0published at 2.2 overs

Aryan Dutt has been good in this tournament, but he's not started well here. Twice too short, twice cut for four by Warner.

  16. Aus 11-0published at 2 overs

Ackermann is on the move from Leicestershire to Durham this winter. Good cricketer. He's shorter than Dutt, undercuts the ball. On the money, too. Three singles from the over, including Warner getting off the mark.

What we have to do with the Netherlands is expect the unexpected. A bit like watching England in Test cricket.

  18. Aus 9-0published at 1.1 overs

Interesting. Spin from both ends. Colin Ackermann with his offies, delivered from behind a pair of shades.

Mitchell Marsh was just looking to guide and defend that ball, but it has raced to the boundary.

  20. Aus 8-0published at 1 over

Marsh is a big man. When he plants that front foot, the bowler must feel he's going to tread on them. A thick edge slides past the slip and goes for four more. The outfield is like a sheet of glass.
