That is hoofed away for six by Nawaz. Over the railings and into the crowd. A costly delivery from Shamsi.

Oh, criminal from Tabraiz Shamsi as he oversteps.
And Mohammad Nawaz slams the free hit for six!
Mixed over for Shamsi. He got the key breakthrough of Saud Shakeel but 11 runs come from it.
Saud Shakeel shakes his bat in frustration as he departs. He was playing beautifully and was crucial to Pakistan's hopes of reaching 300.

It was turning out to be a real taxing time for South Africa, but those two wickets make it manageable again. Is it an indication of fitness levels? It will be a different test for them chasing.

That's a big wicket for Shamsi, another Pakistan batter gets in and fails to get a big score. Great celebration from Shamsi. That 300 suddenly looks a long way off again.
Saud c De Kock b Shamsi 52 (Pak 240-7)
Huge!
The set batter departs as Tabraiz Shamsi strikes, and there's his usual emphatic celebration! A little quicker and Saud Shakeel attempts to cut, only succeeding in getting an edge through to Quinton de Kock's gloves.
A fine knock but he can't kick on when Pakistan need it most.
Very impressive from South Africa, this. They've fought back very well since the counter-attack of Saud and Shadab.

It was swatted away by Nawaz, a really excellent stroke.
What a shot this is!
Gerald Coetzee keeps banging it in short, and in fairness it's got him two wickets so far.
But this one's off-line and Mohammad Nawaz upper cuts it beautifully over point for six!

Eight an over from Pakistan would be good to aim for from here, taking them to 303.
Tabraiz Shamsi zips through his over, which is boundary-less but some smart running takes six from it.
Having bumped Iftikhar up the order earlier, Pakistan are a little light on their power-hitting at the end here.

Good batting from Saud Shakeel with the running between the wickets. It's all about turning the ones into twos.
Pak 229-6
Not out and fifty! A fine innings from Saud Shakeel, reaching 51 from 50 balls.
Good running too, coming back for the second and putting the fielders under pressure. He dusts himself down after that dive and is ready for more.
Saud Shakeel dives full-stretch to make his ground after coming back for two - which will be his half-century if he's safe.
He doesn't look the slightest bit bothered.
Here we go then, 10 to go.
Can Pakistan withstand the pressure having just seen Shadab depart?
Saud Shakeel is unbeaten on 47, with Mohammad Nawaz for company.

I've just seen Marco Jansen just go and give Quinton de Kock a tap on the shoulder as if to say he got an assist. He and Temba Bavuma had a long chat with Coetzee before that. All four balls have been banged in short.

Shadab goes for the pull shot and mis-cues it, a straight forward catch and that partnership has been snuffed out.
Shadab c Maharaj b Coetzee 43 (Pak 225-6)
Coetzee wins the battle!
An entertaining partnership and a fun counter-attacking innings comes to an end. Shadab's aggression is his undoing as he tries to whack another short ball but gets a top edge and Keshav Maharaj takes the simplest of catches.
Big breakthrough for South Africa going into the final 10 overs.
Eight from the over.
Our debate over advent calendars has now moved on to Halloween celebrations. Personally have never really got into it, other than having an excuse to eat way more sweets than I probably should.

It was a quality shot. It was a lot slower and it was slapped in between extra cover and mid-off. If he was not in that mind-set, he wouldn't have played that, good stuff from Shadab.
Four more!
Slapped between extra cover and mid-off for four more by Shadab Khan. South Africa react as if that was really close to a catch but it placed perfectly.
