Easy answer to the question who's winning - not England.

Just the slightest raise of the bat from Babar. He has played nicely but he knows he has got a lot more to do.
Babar Azam has a half-century after working a single off the first ball of Lungi Ngidi's fifth over down to square leg. Not the cleanest of shots.
It's come off 64 balls. A rather unstated acknowledgment to the crowd.
Heinrich Klaasen covered 32 metres to take that catch. Top effort.

They always hold Shamsi back until about 20 overs and the batters haven't been able to pick him. Iftikhar got frustrated, a bit too early on the shot and couldn't get the distance.
Heinrich Klaasen had some good ground to cover out there.
Pakistan did not get what they wanted out of Iftikhar's promotion up the order.

Look at Tabraiz Shamsi's celebration, he is absolutely pumped.
Iftikhar c Klaasen b Shamsi 21 (Pak 129-4)
If you can envisage the manner in which you would expect Iftikhar Ahmed to give his wicket away, it would probably be something like this.
He advances down the pitch to Tabraiz Shamsi, but is not quite able to get to the pitch of the ball as he attempts to wallop it over cow corner.
However, he can only sky it to Heinrich Klaasen at long on who is able to scuttle round and pouch the catch.

Have just had someone come into my office and ask, "who is winning?" Is this the worst question to ask a cricket fan?

More bottom-handed biffing from Iftikhar Ahmed as Lungi Ngidi's second ball is pulled away through mid-wicket.
Final ball of the over and Babar Azam attempts a horizontal guide to a slower ball but it falls just short of Quinton de Kock behind the stumps.

Overall, Babar Azam has played the spinners nicely today. It is an area of game that he has struggled with during the tournament so far, only striking at around 60 against spin.
He needs some time in the middle and this is a brilliant opportunity for him. Pakistan need him to kick on, make a hundred and anchor the innings.
Tabraiz Shamsi almost teases one through the gate as Babar Azam plays a risky drive. That's a bit of a let off for the Pakistan skipper.
Here's Iftikhar Ahmed dispatching Keshav Maharaj into the stands for six a few moments ago.

Pakistan have been clear on trying to attack that shorter boundary. The second the bowler drops too short or too full, they have targeted that area of the ground.
But other than those sixes, they haven't scored particularly freely off Maharaj. He is very consistent.
A fraction short from Keshav Maharaj with his third ball of the over and Babar Azam picks up the length quickly, swivels on his feet and efficiently pulls it over the boundary for six.
Ruthless from Babar, whose position as Pakistan skipper has come under some scrutiny in the lead up to the his game.
Never in doubt. A full bat length behind the line.
First ball of Keshav Mahara's over and Iftikhar Ahmed tells Babar Azam there isn't a single which forces the Pakistan skipper to turn on his heels and get his bat behind the crease.
This looks safe but the umpires want to take a quick look.

The pitch does seem to be slowing down a bit. It was a good toss for Pakistan to win anyway but I think putting the pressure on South Africa to chase would have been a big part of Babar's decision too.
Pakistan get a look at Tabraiz Shamsi's left-arm wrist spin for the first time day.
Babar Azam and Iftikhar Ahmed watchful, initially, as the work the ball into the gaps for a a single apiece.

That is where Iftikhar could be a good batting partner for Babar because if he scores quickly, it'll take the pressure of him. Yes he's hit a six early but then allows Maharaj to just dot up the rest of the over.
The first ball of Keshav Maharaj's sixth over is heaved into the stands by Iftikhar Ahmed. That was a big swing of the willow, and a good show of the intent.
Nelson.
