    Target 389

Big moment as Glenn Maxwell comes to the crease. His namesake Phillips earlier took 3-37 with his part-time spin which is a monumental effort in a score of 388, so expect the slow bowlers to play a key part.

He starts well - just five singles ticked off the over.

I'd say both teams in Hufflepuff. Warner and Travis Head should definitely be in Ravenclaw. They've been in the team forever, it seems. Cummins as Neville Longbottom? He always seems to suprise you with just how good he is, despite his place in the order!

    Glorious.

Will Young with a lofted drive for four over mid-off.

Two boundaries off the over and that keeps New Zealand in check.

It's been a fantastic start for New Zealand, Devon Conway has started to get that partnership going. Will Young knows he needs to get that strike rate up for New Zealand pretty quickly.

You don't win a game in the first 10 overs, but you can lose it. New Zealand probably can't recreate Australia's first 10 overs. 380 is such a long way away, but if you bat out those partnerships, eek out those 50/60 runs. The longer these two are in the crease, the more confidence New Zealand will have of getting there.

  5. NZ 50-0published at 5.1 overs

Josh Hazlewood, who probably would be in Hufflepuff, gifts Will Young four runs with a half-volley that he can easily tuck away to the ropes.

That brings up New Zealand's fifty in good time.

  7. NZ 46-0published at 5 overs

    Target 389

As I said earlier, I'm head of the Mitchell Santner fan club but Devon Conway is a firm favourite, too. He's so good to watch.

He drives Pat Cummins' first ball for four before tucking the next off his hips for another boundary.

A wide is thrown in the mix and that's an expensive start from the Australian skipper.

New Zealand shouldn't try and look at 388, they should just keep going 10 overs at a time, aim to get to maybe within 120 with 10 overs to go. 260 off 40 overs sounds a lot easier. You need people to play special innings, but the longer this innings can go on, the easier it will become.

That ball just sat up, it's been a little bit of a placid wicket so far.

  12. 6 runs

    NZ 35-0published at 4 overs

    Target 289

    Hello!

Devon Conway has done most of the scoring but Will Young joins the party from nowhere, launching Hazlewood for six.

The only runs from the over though, and New Zealand need more than that.

  13. NZ 29-0published at 3 overs

Five wides starts Mitchell Starc's over and New Zealand will be delighted with that.

He then pulls it back, just three further runs coming from the over but it's been a positive start for Conway and Young.

  14. NZ 26-0published at 2.2 overs

"Mitchell Starc would so be in Slytherin," wise words from our social media journalist, Alex.

David Warner would definitely be in there with him.

Most of New Zealand's team would be Gryffindor, without a doubt.

The experienced Wesley Barresi has been fearless with the bat for the Netherlands in his first match of this World Cup.

Barresi, the sole survivor in this Dutch squad from their last appearance at a World Cup in 2011, has a breezy 33 off 27 balls.

He struck a couple of eye-catching boundaries off Taskin Ahmed a few moments ago - pulling him for four through mid-wicket before a glorious lofted drive over mid-off.

There's a decent number of Bangladesh fans at Eden Gardens providing some good vocal support - around 2,000 are said to have made the trip from Dhaka to Kolkata for this match.

Enjoying the commentary and stories @ Mike Peter. Got home late from work, at 11pm, up at 7am. BBC TMS keeping me going. I can't live without my CWC fix every morning! All chores done. I can relax and enjoy the rest of this match! Hope we have a good one.

    Yep, pointless review.

Nowhere near it. Pat Cummins reviewed with about two seconds to spare and by then, Hazlewood was shaking his head to say there was no point. Silly.

    The fightback?

Josh Hazlewood appeals for caught behind. The umpire could not be less bothered.

I think the first innings proved you can get off to a flyer, really slow down and still put on a big score. They need to score 7.77 an over to chase this, but if they can consistently score between six and 10 an over, they have every chance. It is an absolute road out there.
